Banco Terra Opens Malema Branch

PRESS RELEASE Banco Terra opens Malema Branch Banco Terra today announced that is has received all regulatory clearances to open a new branch in Malema. According to Maarten Susan (CEO) this is a significant move towards the realization of the bank’s outreach to rural areas. He commented as follows: “Malema is a district capital, located 250 km west of Nampula. In earlier times this used to be a flourishing agricultural region, but the area has been in decline for decades, with the last bank leaving over 20 years ago. With the return of Banco Terra, we offer people a safe place to put their money, the opportunity to earn interest on deposits, and we shall introduce the Agri-finance schemes we are at present rolling out elsewhere”. He went on to thank all parties involved for the support that they have given to the project and expressed his expectation that the success of this branch would lead to the opening of further rural branches.
