I was born on December 3, 1994. I was christened Kenneth Sta. Maria Villasis on August 1995, about 8 months after my birth. The frequent rains and floods in our place in Obando, Bulacan had caused the delay of my baptism. My parents were both doctors – Dr. Ramon L. Villasis Jr., an Orthopedic Surgeon and Dr. Florcefida Sta.Maria- Villasis, an Ob-Gynecologists..I am the youngest of 4 children, three boys and 1 girl. For this, I was pampered a lot during my early childhood. I was given full attention by my parents and siblings – this I enjoyed a lot. I grew up quietly in our hometown. My first birthday was just a small gathering of my close relatives in our home. Although at the age of 1, I was already saying one or few syllables, my parents noticed I was not talking a lot and quiet child at all when I reached 2 years old. My parents got worried but all along they knew I would later become talkative and naughty little boy. Contrary to their expectations, this did not happen, and so, my early enrollment in school was postponed. I had my talking ability delayed, but as time went by it became normal. I entered Kindergarten at age of 5 in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Kiddie School in Obando. Despite of delayed speech, I enjoyed my early school very much. Our teacher taught us how to write and read. I remember, we always play in the monkey bar in the playground of our school. I began to love my
stay in our school, that sometimes, I refuse to go home after dismissal. However, this was also the place where I experienced my first great scare in my life. At the end of the school year, I was chosen as the top graduate and was consigned to deliver a valedictory address. My parents worried a lot. In spite of all the coachings and the proddings, I blew it up and cried in front of people on the day before graduation. Finally, my teacher had to allow the top 2 student to deliver the valedictory address. I feel ashamed of myself. That was my first failure in life. On my second year in Kindergarten, nothing unusual. Before the end of the school year. The story repeated itself. I was again chose to deliver a speech. But that time, I successfully made it. I also cried again, but despite of that I was enable to deliver it and my classmates cried too when I performed, they were carried away with what I said.
My elementary days were spent in Colegio de San Pascual Baylon(CSPB), also in Obando, Bulacan. I became smarter, more confident, more friendly, and my understanding in studying clearer. My school years just went normally like a normal student. In this school, I first experienced intramurals. In grade five and grade six. I became a competent player of my batch. I was a stylish dancer too, doing some choreography in modern dances and I am a good remixer of music. Before I graduated, some my classmates and mewere privileged to become ushers and usherettes in the high sc hool’s Seniors’ Prom, much awaited event particular event
The most congenial part of my life, High School. My aspiration in becoming one of the students of a Science High School becomes more exciting. This led to a successful result. I got admitted in a Science High School – Valenzuela City Science School. I was assigned in section I – Aristotle. I also began to study more, though more often, my efforts were not enough. I had adjustment problems in first year, but luckily, I was able to move on. Many new people I’ve met and become my friends My first friends in school are Anthony, John Paul and Anthon. Here in ValSci, I have unforgettable memories. Several competitions and events happened like the Science Fair; but the most unforgettable event of all, is the TLE month. Freshmen, I – Aristotle, presented an extraordinary performance in Techno Dance Competition of TLE month in which I was a participant. We didn’t expect much, we gave our best….. We won first place in the competition. Whoa! That was awesome! The whole class were very happy. Though some of the events occasionally led to misunderstanding among our classmates, we are still friends at the end. I guess, it’s part of growing up After this memorable first year, I am now in Second Year section,MENDEL. This class, I really love because we learn to help each other in our own little way to survive our daily struggle in our subjects. In my studies, I must admit that I should study more. More difficult subjects are added to the daily schooling. Science Week Event just passed, another blissful event happened. Our participants in the Science jingle performed perfectly but unfortunately we did not win. Lastly, I am very thankful to all my teachers, past and present who are all very kind and accommodating to help us learn the lessons, no matter how difficult they are for us. These, I can never forget . My only fervent wish for
now, with God’s guidance , is to survive the struggle until my senior year.:)khenmona
