From the Shepherd’s Shop‹ Shop‹ by Pastor Keith Felton

I am thankful God has led MARK THOMPSON, AMANDA ANGLIN, and FELICIA ASHMORE to join our family of faith! We are thrilled these three have made their commitment to advance the Gospel with us here at First Baptist. Let’s do all we can to help welcome them and help get them ‘plugged in’ to our ministries and activities. I know they will feel a warm FBC embrace in the coming days. I am excited about serving along side them. I want to encourage you to GET BEHIND THE PASTOR and join the choir! Our new Music Minister, Jacob Sensenig, is off to a great start and needs you to be a part of the Sanctuary choir. No auditions necessary! All that is needed is a willingness to lead out in worship and offer praise to our Lord. We have nursery provided on Wednesdays (Thanks Patsy!). You will love the fellowship with a really fun (and a little crazy) group of FBC choir members. This is a great time to join. I know Jacob would love to see you THIS Wednesday. On a more personal note, Sharon and I are very thankful for the small army of folks who have brought food to our house during these first couple of weeks being home with our daughter. We also want to thank all of you who took a Sunday afternoon to be at the DFW airport to welcome us home. Your outpouring of love has meant so much to our family as we have journeyed through this adoption process. Thank you for all the support and prayers. Maya Sitota is rapidly transitioning to her new family and home. We look forward to her getting to know all of you.

LOOK OUT!... Here They Come! PORTICO is back this fall!! I am very excited about this great opportunity for our students to fellowship and get involved in discipleship. PORTICO is a DVD based, small group discussion for our students. This year we will be using the Liquid DVD series. Our lessons for the first part of the fall will be focused on five parables Jesus taught. The biblical material is presented in parallel with contemporary, real life events. Come and check it out, I promise you won’t be disappointed! A special thanks to our new host homes for PORTICO; the Elkins and the Ingrams will be hosting our students this week! Thank you both for opening your home to our students and your involvement in this very important ministry.
