Atmosphere Assessment 6c

Dear Mr. Point, I am writing to you because of your opinion on C02. your opinions says that plants take in carbon dioxide and give out oxygen which animals take in and give out carbon dioxide, which is true but you also said that it is balancing out the atmosphere which is untrue. Carbon dioxide is not only produced from respiration which is glucose + oxygen = co2 + water + energy and it opposite for the plants, but there are many other thing what produce c02 such as “fossil fuels” that is burning coal and oil to release all the trapped c02 stored in the fossil to come into the atmosphere, fossil fuels make nearly everything , another reason is because human population is over growing which give out c02, each human give out 0.85kg of c02 a day and 310kg a year, cutting down rain forests and animals waste which lets of methane also increases the amount of co2. Carbon dioxide is a green house gas which means it doesn’t let heat escape from a space that’s why green houses are made with glass so it can absorb the heat and look after the plants. It is bad for the environment because it leads to global warming. Global warming is when there is a raise in the earth’s temperature and brakes down the ozone layer which protects us from harmful rays known as UVBs, also many plants and animals live on a particular temperature and if it raise many animals will die and disrupt the food chain. This causes to more extinctions of animals. And ice leaps which raise the sea level. Carbon dioxide also is bad for the human body because breathing in more than 1% of concentration from c02 joins up with haemoglobin and destroys the oxygen. Also c02 leads to acid rain which contains sulphur dioxide and destroys lot of the environment, it mainly comes from factories and mixes with NO2. There are lots of ways to remove c02 from the atmosphere, but one of the main processes is natural and it is called photosynthesis this process works by plants taking in carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and giving back oxygen, the equation for that is water +sunlight +carbon dioxide = glucose + oxygen, by cutting down less trees, burning less fossil fuels and not wasting resources will help save the environment. Over the years C02 has been rising rapidly, about 50 years ago it was just about over 310 million tonnes now it is over 370 million tonnes. They are many ways to prevent carbon dioxide from increasing, using green energy which includes solar energy and natural resources, solar panels help heat and power things

instead of burning fossil fuels and producing more co2 in the atmosphere. Also cutting down less trees and plants can help but mainly stop using coal, petrol, oil and other high c02 producing resources e.g. dead plant, animals and humans.
