At the November 8, 2006 Planning Board meeting, CJ Koepp stood up and declared herself to be “ a person of integrity." She then proceeded to lie. She said that the DOT had approved her plans for diverting the stream that runs under the proposed site for our old house. She followed that claim with a letter stating the same, on November 14, 2006. At the time of the meeting, I knew that was an untrue statement but felt I needed confirmation from the DOT before I objected. I contacted you numerous times after that November meeting to tell you of my emails and conversations with the DOT. I had it confirmed Koepp and Place most certainly had not received approval from the DOT for their plans for the stream. I have several documents from the DOT which prove Koepp's statement to be false. Grace, she lied to you. YOU. Not me. She lied to you and to the Planning Board. She lied to the village. YOU sue her and Staley. Or the Planning Board should sue her and Staley. Or just sue Staley. I don't care. But, why should I have to be the one to do it? This particular lie affects my sister-in-law most because of the impact it will have on this property. But, it will also affect everyone in this village, both in now presenting the village with an open ditch, and in setting a precedent by condoning this deceit. Why should there by no consequences for Koepp and Place in this matter? Why should there be no consequences for the Planning Board in this particular debacle? You and your board, and Nancy Gil, let this happen. You took "on good faith" information that has created a situation that will have serious impacts on the neighbors and this entire village. The Planning Board should accept responsibility for their errors in faith, in judgment, and in decision. This should not be my matter to sue over. It is all of ours. Grace let me put this country simple: I believe that your board screwed up here. Your board should fix it. This village’s government should fix the mess we see unfolding before us. You should not shake your head, and deny culpability. This is your village too. It is your home too. It is not just mine. I should not be the only one attempting to make things right.
