Consultant/Executive Coach Agreement 1.

Confidential Information: The Consultant/Executive Coach agrees that any information received by the Consultant during any furtherance of the Consultant’s obligations is accordance with this contract, which concerns the personal, financial or other affairs of L4T/AST, will be treated by the Consultant in full confidence and will not be revealed to any other persons, firm or organizations.

Orientation Conference: Consultants will attend the two-day orientation conference that corresponds to their assigned principal participant(s). If Consultant is assigned to principals that are attending conferences on different dates, Consultant’s attendance is expected at both conferences.

3.

Site Visits: Consultants will make a minimum of sixteen (14) site visits to each of their assigned schools over the course of the academic year. Visits will be prorated if services start after the school year has begun.

It is the responsibility of the Consultant to inform L4T/AST of these visits in a timely fashion. The first visit is set at the orientation conference. At the conclusion of each site visit, the Consultant will promptly e-mail the L4T/AST Vice President of Operations to inform them of their next visit. This is to be done regardless of the need for travel arrangements.



In the event that a Consultant works with more than one school at a site, visits to multiple schools should be made within the same visit to a site unless otherwise arranged with the Vice President of Operations.



Site visit agendas are prepared and sent to the principals three (3) days before the upcoming site visit. A copy of each agenda is sent electronically to the Vice President of Operations.



Within 72 hours of the site visit, the Consultant will complete a site report. This report is sent electronically to the principal with a copy to the Vice President of Operations. Relevant data or reports will be attached to the site reports as needed.

Weekly Contacts: Consultants will participate in weekly contacts with each of their assigned principals. •

Monthly Communication Logs documenting weekly phone calls and e-mail correspondence will be maintained as a record of contact between the Consultant and principal, as well as agreed upon action steps for both. Monthly Communication Logs are to be sent electronically to the Vice President of Operations at the end of each month.



In the event of vacation or illness, the Consultant will inform the principal(s) and the Vice President of Operations that he/she will not be available. Principals will be advised to contact the L4T/AST office if assistance is needed.

Inadequate Progress: Consultants will notify the AST Vice President of Operations in writing in the event that a principal is (1) not making adequate progress toward his/her goals, (2) not effectively implementing the plan or (3) not participating fully in the relationship with the Consultant. This information must be shared as soon as it becomes available.

Mid-Year Conference: Consultants will participate in the 2-day MidYear Conference. Consultants will assist principals in defining stubborn barriers to achievement and identifying solutions.

7.

Learning from Leaders Conference: Consultants will participate in the 2-day Learning from Leaders Conference at the end of the school year. Consultants will assist principals with assessing how well targets are met and next steps.

8.

Retreat: Consultants will participate in retreat days that are designed to contribute to a coaching and learning community, support of the principal participants, and the design of the program.

9.

Leader Action Review: Consultants will complete a summative end of the year Leader Action Review summarizing commitments of the principal for the school year.

10. Payment

to Consultant: The Consultant will be paid at the rate of $500 per diem The Consultant will record an itemized expense sheet setting forth the time spent and services rendered as well as details of any agreed upon reimbursable expenses. See the Statement of Policies for more information on per diem records and expenses. The Consultant will be paid at the rate of $250 (half per diem) for required conferences, retreats and training sessions. The Consultant will be paid $500 per semester for weekly contacts with principals.

11. Independent

Contractor: Both L4T/AST and the Contractor agree that the Contractor will act as an independent Contractor in the performance of its duties under this contract. Accordingly, the Contractor shall be responsible for payment of all taxes including Federal, State and local taxes arising out of the Contractor’s activities in accordance with this Agreement, including Unemployment Insurance taxes, and any other taxes or business license fee as required. The Contractor understands that the relationship with L4T/AST is for the duration of this Agreement, that the Contractor is free to seek employment outside of L4T/AST and, should L4T/AST offer a future Agreement to the Contractor, the Contractor is in no way obligated to L4T/AST to accept. The Contractor understands that this is an “at-will” Agreement and either party can terminate the Agreement at any time.

12. Report

Review: The Vice President of Operations will review all reports and logs, keeping an electronic folder for each Consultant that contains all reports. The VP of Operations will communicate directly

with a Consultant if his/her reports are behind or not completed in an acceptable timeframe. Both L4T/AST and the Consultant/Executive Coach agree to the above Agreement. Consultant further understands that in their role as Consultant, L4T/AST will not provide any benefits or compensation other than the per diem rate noted above, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
