Interactive Whiteboard Life Cycle: Smart Technologies Production Line Interactive whiteboard is the latest of classroom solutions and is fast replacing the regular whiteboard, traditional blackboard and flipcharts. With expected estimated sales of $1 billion by the end of 2008 and a projection that it will be found in one out of every six classrooms in the world by 2011, the board which operates by a connection of large interactive display, computer and a projector now has models integrated with projector and other tools, and takes engineering and photonics processes to built. In August 2008, Smart Technologies the first to conceive and largest manufacturer with about 53.3% of the market worldwide currently, celebrated their 1 millionth Smart board since its establishment in 1991. This project will however focus on the factory floor engineering, assembling and testing processes repeatedly performed to turn material parts into Smart boards. Interactive whiteboards are also used in corporate boardrooms and broadcasting studios to illustrate, communicate and interact with the audience; and for professional sport coaching.
