The correspondent of TNN, Manash Pratim Gohain reported in Times of India dated June 16th, 2009, a story of Sunny Bajaj pursuing accounting degree in Australia. The boy is victim of one of the racial attacks that have been taken place in different parts of Australia over the past two months. He was badly beaten by two Australian men. He was so shocked by the attack that he immediately returned to India. The federation of Indian Students of Australia is saying that there is no help coming from Indian consulate. According to victim, racial abuse is very common in Australia. Those who can’t cope with such abuses shouldn’t go there. Australian government taking some actions but these are not sufficient. According to me, one should not be not cowed down by such attacks and come back. Also it is both Indian and Australian governments’ responsibility to give protection to Indian students studying in Australia.
