Art Vs Craft

What is Art? 

Art is generally about aesthetics rather than function.  

 Art

work transcends it's humble

materials to create statement in a meaningful way.  An

art activity is open-ended.

What is Craft?  Craft

work is skilled work: any kind of

craft must involve the application of a technique.   The

word is the derived from a German

word “Kraft”, which simply means power or ability.  A

craft is close-ended activity.

Difference? 

Craft can be duplicated, art cannot.



Art always commands more money than craft.



Since art is unique, it can bring anything to life by imparting its uniqueness to it.



Art comes from a deeper source than craft. It cannot be packaged like craft.



Craft involves mind, art involves mind and soul.

What is Carpentry and Masonry? Art
