BACKGROUND: Keith Carel was just an average-Joe forensic criminalist with the Richmond PD when on a case downtown, he accidently ingested an overdose of an untested “designer synthetic” drug. Carel’s body reacted uniquely to it, both addicting him and altering his brain chemistry in ways that his doctors still do not understand. At the same time, Carel underwent what was apparently a White Event; this particular White Event was itself unique in that combined with the drug, it caused an aneurysm and left him in a coma for nearly 3 weeks. During his coma, Carel constantly dreamed about a force that seemed just beyond his reach and that was calling to him to use his abilities to destroy the world. He seemed to be on the run from some terrible creature that he could never quite identify. Keith has revealed to people who know him that he has the ability to heal faster than normal people, but not the true extent of his abilities nor his identity as Archon because the recipients of White Events are treated as public spectacles, much as Altrexia Ngey’va (the felinoid alien celebrity heroine) or any Hollywood movie star.
