From Your Pastor,

Our Lord Jesus took on the cross for all the people of the world. His sacrifice was an act of love and grace. He forgave our sins so that our relationship with Him could be whole and without blemish. Only He could do such a thing because He alone is without sin. In His forgiveness, He also commanded that we who are believers, should go and make disciples of others all across the world. As I was praying this morning, I kept thinking about the charge He gave to us…And that we (you and me) are to live a life so as to lead other people to the throne of grace that they might see and know about Jesus. Our sincerity, dedication, knowledge of His Word, commitment to study, and our personal relationship with Christ should lead others to know Him more. Why do we celebrate Easter? Is it just to remember with a warm spiritual feeling or is it to remind us of both His sacrifice and His charge? I believe both are the reason. Will you ask God what you can do to lead others to Him?

Grits and God’s Word Men, set your alarms and join the others for breakfast and Bible study, prayer and more! Every Tuesday morning at 6:30 AM

They have three children, Amy and John Roland, Sharie and Bart Quattlebaum and Pete and Jessica Stickles who were all married in the Church. At the present time they have six grands, Ryan, Cale, Thomas, Sarah, Natalie and Ella Jane along with a baby boy or girl coming soon. Van has served the Church in various ways over the years most notable being Deacon Chairman and Church Moderator.

Continued – In 2006 he retired from the S. C. State Park Service after 32 years. Currently he is Mayor of Elloree and owner of Flavor Masters Catering and BBQ. Van said. “I’ve seen this church do mighty things over the years, from extreme caring for others, to building projects, to nurturing children to Christian adults. I have been blessed by God to be here. I am also very proud of my three children and their mates. I can’t tell you how it makes me feel for them to fill my pew every Sunday. Of course my grands are just the best. God is great and He keeps on showing us just how great He is.”
