Anthony Cervantes 2/28/07 Period 2 Mr. Nunez ANTHONY GRIFFIN This is a biography of the life of Anthony Griffin. He was a true civil rights attorney. He was just and completely unbiased when it came to his job. He was a lawyer in Texas for groups such as NAACP, Texas American Civil Liberties Union, and for one of his cases, the Ku Klux Klan. Anthony Griffin was born in 1954 in Baytown, Texas. He graduated from the University of Houston Law Center in 1978. He was admitted to the bar in 1978 in which he covered civil, employment, and labor law. He was raised in a poor neighborhood, which was a reason for giving two million dollars to the city of Baytown, for beautification of the gloomy city. In his career as a lawyer, he specialized on civil rights (specifically first amendment) issues for all American citizens. An example of his unbiased and unmoved loyalty to the Bill of Rights was his case in which he defended a grandragon from the KKK in his right to refuse to give his membership list to the state of Texas.
