CANDIDATE’S LETTER OF INTEREST APPLICATION FOR TRI-CLUSTER COORDINATOR TRAINING WORKSHOP Name… Dhekra Annuzaili……………………………. Date…

30.09.2008………………………….

Please note that your letter of interest will be an important part of the selection procedure. It should address:

what you think are the main qualities of a Cluster Coordinator;

The cluster coordinator is a person who has technical, managerial and leadership skills which entitle him/her to, conceptualize, plan and coordinate the needed interventions and have an overall idea about other agencies working in the same or related field.

The qualifications, experiences and skills that you have as a Coordinator within your sector of humanitarian operations; I am a nutrition programme Officer who is originally a pediatrician and have studied child health, International Child and Youth Care & Development and preinatal medicine (see attached C.V) I have been working with UNICEF since June 2003, and responsible for the overall nutrition development programme plus the emergency nutrition, I worked as the emergency focal point since February 2004, I developed and coordinated several partnerships with other international organizations like the IFRC, WFP, WHO and even the local active NGO like the Yemeni Red Crescent and Charitable Society of Social Welfare. I have written several fund raising for emergency proposals and coordinated the implementation of these nutrition emergency interventions by the local NGOs in Yemen. I am a previous IMCI master trainer and course director and a regional new WHO growth monitoring facilitator.

how you would bring together the various sector actors in an emergency to produce a coordinated response and what you would see as the most important areas where a coordinated response would be needed; it depends on the context of any emergency and on the various sector actors present in the situation of emergency, the coordination should start from the early beginning, and it could be after each actor has developed their first draft plan of action, each in its specific field and mandate of interventions, coordination and complementary work should exist. The important areas of interventions depends on the type and magnitude of emergency whether normal or complex one, small or big. Off course in any emergency shelter, food water and security are the most serious pillars for any displaced population. •

and your previous and expected future commitment to the MENA EMRO region, and why.

It was explained above my responsibilities towards the MENA and EMRO as a person working with the United Nations and in the very sensitive field of work, nutrition. I am committed currently and I will be in the future for any call of deployment if there is an approval from my work.
