While I know how significant the discovery of King Tut's dick was for so many of us, I've found an article which addresses a topic with far greater impact on our day-to-day lives. I realize this is a bold statement -- one which likely runs counter to all instinct and education -- but I stand behind it. This isn't a topic addressed terribly often, although we've all been made aware of its threat at some point in our lives. Indeed, this threat has cast a long shadow over the last few centuries in Western civilization. I'm referring, of course, to The Mummy's Curse. Fortunately, the actual British Medical Journal published an actual historical cohort study written by an actual NHMRC fellow comparing the effects on longevity of individuals exposed to The Mummy's Curse to that of unexposed individuals. I was particularly struck by the data as presented in the article's Figure 2, in which the dose effect of exposure to The Mummy's Curse and mean years of survival were painstakingly graphed. What a fantastic multidisciplinary contribution to scientific research. I think I need a Foster's now.
