A BRIEF REPORT 

The Albert Barrow Creative Writing Competition is held every year to test the creative writing skills of the school going children.

25 students, who had a flair for writing, were selected from classes 9 and 10 respectively.

Rules were specified to them before the competition. The total time allotted to them was 3 hours (one hour for preparation and 2 hours for writing)  The students had a choice of four topics.  They were as follows: 1. An incident which changed your belief in something you considered important. 2. Changes in Indian families. 3. The fascination that comes with change. 4. Out with the old and in with the new……..The world needs the change NOW! 

The students were really excited especially when they were sent to the library to gather information on the topics they had selected. There was a lot of excitement among the students as it was an all new experience for them.

Though the topics were challenging, the students channeled their thoughts and ideas and wrote their essays. Considering that the essay had to be around a thousand odd words, it was indeed a test against time.

Few of these essays were shortlisted, based on the content, expression and impeccable writing skills. Finally, the best two essays were selected and sent to the Council for further evaluation.

“Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything beautiful, for beauty is God's handwriting.”
