Social Situation in Afghanistan

Introduction to Afghanistan  Existed 350 years B.C.  From 1747-1973 Afghanistan has monarchy background (226) years.  Ahmad Shah Durani was the first king and Dawood Khan was the first

president of Afghanistan (1973).  Tribes in Afghanistan (40% pashtun, 25.3% Tajik,18% Hazara, 6.3 % Uzbek, 2.5% Qizilbash and 6.9% others..).  Agricultural country  Through the history Afghanistan was occupied by many powers: 7. Great Britain( 1839-1842) by Amir dost Mohd Khan. 8. Soviet Union ( 1979-1989) by Mujahidin 9. Taliban (1996-Nov 2001) by Mujahidin and USA. 10. United States of America ( 11 sept 2001).

How the Political Chaos affected society  During the passage of history the power has been inherited

by power and cope d’ etates.  Political Ideologies ( Communism, Sharia law, Democracy)  Invasion of soviet union 1979 and beginning of civil war  Distribution of power among the leaders such as,  Gulbuddin Hekmatyar  Ustad Kahili  General dostum.  Ahmad Shah Massoud  Abdul Rab Sayaf  And others….

Educational impacts  Higher education collapsed to zero  Ministry of education burned.  Schools were destroyed.  Educational ideals turned to political idealism.  Books were burned and ministry of education turned to teachers coffee

shop.  Education ratified forbidden for girls.  Expert teachers emigrated permanently to foreign countries.  Shortage of new and updated books.  Worst educational sphere  Bureaucracy in all educational source.

Women Right Impacts Imposed to wear Burqa Women were imposed to be excluded from society. Education were prohibited for women Un employment for women inside and outside

country. Superiority of men over women No law for women prosecution Love marriage was prohibited.

Human Right Impacts Human Rights Abuse such as; Guns Were Imposed For Self Security Increase In Women Rape Level No justice level for committing crime Small sin cost bigger prosecution Prayer and devotion became obligatory House became the permanent prison for

women.

2. No TV stations 3. No Radios 4. No Music at all  Songs were allowed but without instruments  No Cd’s or DVD's shops  No cinema or Theater

Afghan as the largest refugee group in the world 9. Crimes committed against humanity in the name of Islam
