I, U Kyaw Myint, strongly defend the “defamatory statements” in the article of Thailand based The Irrawaddy magazine “Canada-based Party Linked to Controversial Businessman” published on December 26, 2008 about me, my business and my political career. 2. I claim that “defamatory statements” in the Irrawaddy magazine’s article were outrageous, grossly irresponsible, malicious and evinced a complete and utter difference to my rights and reputation. 3. I strongly against the editor in chief of the Irrawaddy magazine Mr. Aung Zaw to publish “Canada-based Party Linked to Controversial Businessman” with defamatory statements based on rumours and unreliable sources. I pledge to take legal action against Mr. Aung Zaw and the Irrawaddy magazine regarding the above matters. 4. I, U Kyaw Myint, never conduct or involve illegal business in my life. All my business in North America and Asia are legal. I am qualified to act as executive in the high level management in North American Corporations. The qualification to act as an executive in high level management was approved by U.S and Canada government. 5. I, U Kyaw Myint, never conduct or involve in illegal drug business and money laundering business in my life. I am not a “Wa” ethnic people. I’m a Kachin from Union of Myanmar. Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) known and already checked my criminal records, saying no criminal records in my life. 6. I, U Kyaw Myint, strongly believe that Mr. Aung Zaw and the Irrawaddy magazine is responsible for publishing the article which includes “defamatory statements” about me, my business and my political career. 7. Mr. Aung Zaw and Irrawaddy magazine has not proof, wrote the fake and rumor information, it is not media morality.
