Centre: Fish school cookies
Children will be given a tub filled with rainbow coloured water beads. Inside the tub there will be a variety of different ocean creatures and other items that can be found in the ocean.
Mat session/Introduction:
This centre will be run by an educator. Children will assist the educator in making short bread biscuits. Once the biscuits have been made and they have cooled down, each child will be given their own cookie to decorate with different coloured lollies and icing.
The educator will begin the lesson by reading the story ‘The Rainbow Fish’ by Marcus Pfister. After reading the story the educator will ask the student questions. - What did the rainbow fish look like? - Was the rainbow fish nice to the other fish? - What sea creatures did you see in the story? The children will then be sent off to play at the centres.
