I. Objectives: To know the different diseases affecting the Respiratory system. To be able to understand the emergence of diseases affecting respiratory system. II. Concept: Respiratory system can be classified into two. First is the Upper respiratory tract which consist of the nose, nasal cavity, mouth, pharynx and larynx. Its function involves warming, humidifying and filtering of air that is being inhaled. On the other hand, Lower respiratory tract is composed of trachea, Bronchi, Bronchioles, Thoracic cage and diaphragm. Infections are one of the most common causes of malfunction of respiratory system that could cause diseases and even death, not even age, gender, nationality is an exemption. Respiratory diseases are classified into two; Obstructive and restrictive disorders. Obstructive disorders refer to the narrowing of the air passages, create turbulence and the obstruction of air flow on the lungs.
