Accessory Organs of the Digestive Tract
Hehe. Sorry! Kapag nga pala inaral nyo, wag nyo munang i-slideshow agad kasi yung notes dun ko nilagay sa panel na may click to add notes

GALL BLADDER
A hollow pear-shaped green organ Attached to the lower surface of the liver FUNCTION: stores (30-50 ml) and concentrates bile and releases it in response to CCK
• Hollow organ with layered walls A. MUCOSA • Simple columnar epithelium overlying lamina propria. • Plicated into convoluted folds, varied height; narrow clefts – Secrete mucus – Contain a membrane sodium pump for water absorption from stored bile (concentrate)
B. MUSCULARIS • interwoven smooth muscles (L, T , & O) + C, E , R fibers • Contract and empty gall bladder <-- CCK
C. ADVENTITIA AND SEROSA • DCT may be attached to the liver (adventitia) and a serosa covering its free (peritoneal surface)
Mucosa – simple columnar epithelium
