Background and Introduction: This is a small business that was set up by the Sole director; this business will be operating from home until I am able to secure a suitable premise. The part I am going to be concentrating /focus on now i.e. for the first year will be, Manned Guarding, concierge/security, receptionist/post room/porter, retail. After a year I will be looking at CCTV and Shutters etc. The key player/competitors will be the shops owners, building sites, night clubs etc
The Business: Legal status & capital The business will be launched as a sole trader company. I will be Sole director of the company. I will not be directly involving in manned any site but will be closely monitoring my staff to make sure they are doing what they are suppose to be doing in order to satisfy my client security need. There will be at least 10-15 numbers of the employees with ISA licence holder. They will all go through training, and with a few years experience in the security industry. I will be investing at least £500 of my own money into the business. This is to be used to (a) £50 to register the business (b) £150 to get a telephone line (c) £ 250 To do and design the business brochures, business cards. (d) £50 to design a Logo by an expert. I will also be seeking a loan funding £10,000 to help launch the business. £ 4,000 will be used towards a company car. £3,000 will go towards the equipment, such as uniforms, yellow hivi, jumpers, with the company logo on it, Radios. £500 will be used to design a web site. and the remaining is to be used for purchasing an office equipment, i.e. fax machine mobile phone, files folder for the clients and many more. My business bank account is registered with Barclays bank PlC. I will be looking to be a member of PENISULA, which are dealing with employment law, legal service, business wise, health and safety and Tax.
MY PERSONAL VISION FOR THE BUSINESS: In the first one year I will have at least 20-30 clients. I want to see this business continue functioning after 3 years. Strategic vision that enable me to deliver the highest quality service to our client whilst tailor my security packages to fit any site and budget without compromising their safety. The first three months I will concentrate on how I am going to get so many clients within my area, (Barking and Dagenham). Looking for the competitors within Barking and Dagenham area. 4

Visiting my clients and show my interested in helping them to see how I can reduced their cost. Employed, trained, motivated people who we treat fairly and with respect at all times. In the second three months my Company must register to the UKAS IS09001 British standard and SIA. The third three months I will be looking to move to an office.

Short term, medium term and long term goals: Short term concentrate on getting more clients. By, (a) Build strong relationship with my client through the excellent service we provided. (b) My rate will be the most competitive in the security industry. (c) We will be available at a short notice, even if they have been let down by their usual security company we will provide cover. Medium term is to have a bigger office and probably have another office somewhere in the country. In a long term goals I will be looking at CCTV and Shutters to add to the business. Key Strengths & Competitive Advantage: My aim is to deter theft and vandalism as well as reducing the potential damage from other risk such as fire and flood. During my five years working as a police officer in London, I have dealt with a lot of offenders, and most of my arrest was to do with “FINDING IN AN ENCLOSED PREMISES” THEFT, AND BUGLARY, I can proudly say I have a lot of experienced dealing with all this offender, I know what I should be looking for, all my officer will received rigorous training from me and as a result this will give my client a piece of mind. Also unlike every other security company, my company will aim to identify the precise needs of my clients before establishing the best solution from a wide range of available security service. I will endeavour to employ a well trained and experienced guard; however training will be available to newly join staff. b) All my guard will be in uniform guard for visual deterrent. c) Will approve long or short term cover. d) Will cater for Short notice and emergency cover. e) Making sure my clients get valued for their money. And above all to assure my client that the service provided is by the trained staff that are honest and trustworthy to guard their most valued assets around the clock. My experienced in an i.T (Networking) industry will give wide access to many opportunity in order to provide 21st century technology and advise to my clients. I will continually trained my staff and update them with the likely new legislature that is in place. Build strong relationship with our client through excellent service. Promise to address and satisfy the client security.

Management, Organisation and Personnel: Owner’s role(s) and their responsibilities Personal history, relevant training and experience (CV’s) The owners should declare any adverse credit history they or the business may have. Get an Experian report History, relevant training and experience of key staff Outline if or when there will be a need for the business to recruit new personnel. Outline any future personnel requirements to accommodate business growth and the qualities and skills necessary. My role will include as follows: (i) Looking for clients around Barking and Dagenham area, after a proper research about their premises, will visit them and introduce my business to them. (ii) Have regular meeting with them and give them feed back. (iii) Making decision and stand by it. (iv) Employed staff and interview them and go through their credentials. (v) Train my staff with most of the useful training I have had with the police. i.e. OPT. (officer protection training). How to detain a suspect without committing an offence, e.g., assault, or used excessive force on a person. Detain suspect for police arrival without my staff been accused of assault. Employed, trained, motivated people who must be treated fairly and with respect at all times. I will be working along someone who has been in a security business over a decade; this individual will be giving me insight and what I ought to know in the security field.
