Elementary Sanskrit Syllabus Introduction Why Sanskrit speaking course has been added in this 8 week course? Translation of word ‘Language’ in Sanskrit is ‘Bhaasha’. Bhaasha word comes from root bhash which means ‘to speak’. Language teaching should always start with speaking. When a child takes birth he hears language from his mother and relatives. And thus he picks up the language. It’s not that one has to master the details of grammar first and then start speaking the language. I have used this logic to prepare the course plan. In this regard I have included "Sanskrit speaking task" of about 30 minutes every day. This ensures that students are able to communicate in Sanskrit with ease and confidence. Book reference: 1.
