+y^2 = 1700  X^2 – y^2 = 348  2x^2 = 2048 or x^2 = 1024 or X = 32.  1024 – y^2 = 348  -y^2 = -676 or Y = 26  The numbers are 32 and 26 answer.

Find the least number, which when divided by 14,15,16 leaves remainder 1,2,3, respectively?   

Let us find LCM first: LCM of 14,15,16 is: 1680. When we divide by 14, remainder should be 1, we know that 14-1 = 13, similarly for 15 also, we have to either reduct by 13 or add 2. (thus we should subtract 13 from the number). Similar condition apply to 14 & 15. Thus 1680-13 = 1667 answer.
