to be: was/were. We was in the school yesterday. to live: lived. I lived in Brazil last year. to drink:drank. They drank two sodas in the morning. to study: studied. She studied English for the exam yesterday.

Recommendation You should study the different verbs and translate them in past.

>Past Continuous We write sentences in Past Continuous when the actions are happening in a moment, so the main verb is accompained by the verb to be in past (was/ were) and the -ing. Examples: • • • •

to think: was thinking/ were thinking. They were thinking in the soccer match. to draw: was drawing/ were drawing. I was drawing urban landscapes. to talk: was talking/ were talking. We were talking about the English exam. to write: was writing/ were writing. She was writing a letter for her best friend.
