JOSE P. RIZAL 

Born on June 19, 1861 in Calamba, Laguna



His parents are Francisco Mercado and Teodora Alonso



Learned the alphabet at the age of 3 and read the bible at the age of 5



Studied at Ateneo de Municipal and University of Santo Tomas but finished at a university in Madrid



died on December 30, 1896 at Bagumbayan

Jose P. Rizal was a Filipino nationalist and polymath during the tail end of the Spanish colonial period of the Philippines. An ophthalmologist by profession, Rizal became a writer and a key member of the Filipino Propaganda Movement which advocated political reforms for the colony under Spain.

CAMILO O. OSIAS 

Born on March 23, 1889 at Bacnotan, La Union



His parents are Manuel Osias and Gregoria Olaviano



He studied in Ilocos Sur but was sent as scholar in the USA



Died in Manila in 1976 at age of 87

His public service, particularly in the field of education, has earned for him recognition from Otterbein College in Ohio, United States, which awarded him an honorary degree of Doctor of Laws in 1934, and from the National University which gave him an honorary degree of Doctor of Pedagogy in 1961.Osias rose from being a classroom teacher to being the first Filipino division superintendent of schools. He also became the first president of the National University.

Gregorio F. Zaide was a Filipino historian, author and politician from the town of Pagsanjan, Laguna in the Philippines. A multi-awarded author, Zaide wrote 67 books and more than 500 articles about history, he is known as the "Dean of Filipino Historiographers. He was one of the founders of the International Association of Historians of Asia (IAHA), and president of the Philippine Historical Association for three terms. As a politician, he served as the mayor of his hometown of Pagsanjan from 1971 to 1975.
