Detailed Lesson Plan in Arts MAPEH 8 February 18,2019 I. Objectives At the end of the lesson the students are expected to: 1. IdentifyKabuki as a theatrical art form of Japan, 2. Design a kumadori mask using coloring materials 3. Manifest camaraderie among members in making a kumadori mask. II. A. Daily Routine Let’s all stand for our opening prayer. (The teacher will lead the prayer)

Let me have your attendance first. B. Review Okay. Before we start our topic for today. We will have a review. What is our topic last meeting? What is the two main role in Peking Opera? Okay. Good! What are the characters of Sheng?

It’s about Peking Opera. Sheng and Dan Xiaosheng, Wusheng and Laosheng Laodan, Wudan, Daomadan, Qingy and Huadan

Now, What are the characters of Dan? Correct! Last. What are the secondary role in Peking Opera?

(The teacher will discuss what is kabuki stage) First is hanamichi. Anyone who can go here in front and show where is hanamichi in the kabuki stage. (The teacher will pick one student in every kabuki stage features) (The teacher will discuss the features of kabuki stage) Any questions?

Now I will discuss the two main categories of Actors. What do you call the female roles in kabuki? And male roles is? Do you want to watch a Kabuki theatrical art? (The teacher will show the video of Kabuki) What can you say about the video? (The teacher will pick 3 students to answer) Good! And what do you notice about their props and costumes? Correct! Any questions class?

Now, I will discuss the props and costumes of Kabuki theater art

And what is the purpose of Kumadori? (The teacher will pick one student to answer)

(The teacher will watch and observe the students while they are doing the activity) 10 minutes more! 5 minutes more class! Times up! Now, I need one member of each group to go in front and present their work.

(Each members of the group will go in front of the class and present their masks)

Who's group do you think has the best Kumadori mask?

(The students will choose the group who made the best kabuki mask)

Okay. Thank you! Please sit down. Before we end the class, you will submit to me the masks along with a sheet of paper with your names on it. Is that clear?
