What is the number of diagonals that you can draw in a polygon of 7 sides?

• There is a formulae for this: n (n-3) /2 • 7(7-3) / 2 • 14 answer.

The diameter of a circle circumscribing a square is 20 CM. What is its (square’s) side? • Diagonal = side * 2^1/2 • We know that diameter will be diagonal of a square. Diagonal is = 1.414214*side. • Thus side is 20/1.414214 =14.14 approx.

7th term of AP is 17, 18th term is 39. what is 15th term? • In AP, A= first term, d= difference between 2 terms. TN= A + (n-1)d and sn=n/2(2a+(n-1)d) • TN= any term – term number • A+6d=17 • A+17d=39 • 11d= 22, d = 2. • Difference between 7th & 15th term is 8 – so solve it as under: • Thus in 7th term, we have to add 8*2=16 • 17+16= 33 answer. www.afterschoool.tk

2 trains running @ 30 & 12 pass each other in 90 seconds. Length of first train is 200 meters, what is the length of second. The trains are going in same direction. What will be the answer if they are in opposite direction? • Same direction: 30-12=18. speed = 18*5/18 = 5 m/second. 90*5= 450; the other train is 250 meters. • Opposite direction: 42*5/18= 11.66*90=1050 • Thus other train is ofwww.afterschoool.tk 850 meters.

All the medians of a triangle are equal. What type of triangle is it? • Equilateral trianlgle.

Suresh has 570 in the form of Re. 1, .5 & .25 coins in the ratio (numbers) 3:5:7. How many Re..5 coins does he own? • 3*1 + 5*.5+7*.25= 7.25 • Value of .5 coins is 2.5/7.25 *570 = 196 • Value of Re. 1 coin is : 235 and that of .25 coins: 139 • No. of coins: 235, 392, 556. • Thus the number of Re. .5 coins is 392 www.afterschoool.tk answer.

Suresh has 570 in the form of Re. 1, .5 & .25 coins in the ratio (value) 3:5:7. How many Re..5 coins does he own? • 5/15*570=190 • Thus number of .5 coins is 380 ans.

4 cows are tied at 4 corners of a square field of side 42 m. the cows just cant touch each other. What is ungrazed area? • The total area of 4 cows is equal to 1 square. Thus 22/7*21*21 =1386 • Total area = 42*42=1764. • Area ungrazed is : 1764-1386= 378 sq. meters. • Or we know that circle occupies 78.57%are of a square so ungrazed area is .21428*1764 = 378 answer www.afterschoool.tk

A conical tent has 90 degree angle at vertex. Ratio of its radius to its slant height is ? What is ratio of height to slant height? • Both have same answer. • 1:1.4142 • Or • 1:2^1/2 www.afterschoool.tk

ABC are collinear. A =3,4, B = 2,1 C = 8, X. What is X? Options: 19,13 • We know that in collinear points, area of triangle is zero. Apply the formula and solve it. • Formulae is: ½ [x1(y2-y3)+x2(y3y1)+x3(y1-y2)] • Solving this we get X = 19 answer. • =1/2 [3(1-X) + 2(X-4)+ 8(4-1)] = 0 • ½ [3-3x+2x-8+24] = 0 • ½ [19-x]=0 www.afterschoool.tk

B^3 = -729; what is (-b)^1/2? • B= -9 • Thus –b = 9 • Thus answer is 3 ans.
