Silent Prayer
Prayer of Confession
(Leader, after around 9 seconds of silence): Let us now pray together a Prayer of Confession (Everyone): God of sovereign love, you created the world good and made everyone equally in your image but we rebel against you ; we hide from our Creator. Ignoring your commandments, we violate your image in others and ourselves, accept lies as truth, exploit neighbor and 1
nature, and threaten death to the planet you entrusted to our care. We deserve your condemnation. Yet you act with justice and mercy to redeem creation. O God, in your mercy, we ask you to forgive our sin and help us live as heirs of your covenant. ASSURANCE OF PARDON Leader: Jesus was crucified, suffering the depths of human pain and giving his life for the sins of the world. God raised Jesus from the dead, vindicating his sinless life, breaking the power of sin and evil, delivering us from death to life eternal. Everyone: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven. Thanks be to God! (Leader): “In gratitude for God’s grace, we give thanks now with joy….” (Leader): Let us now stand together in the singing of the Gloria Patri *HYMN: “GLORIA PATRI” Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost: as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen. GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF CHRIST (Leader): The Spirit justifies us by grace through faith, sets us free to accept ourselves and to love God and neighbor, and binds us together with all believers As we have received peace through Christ, so let us pass the peace of Christ to one another.
