THE RECOMPESE OF THE GIVER By: Jorge Villavicencio INTRODUCTION We should thank God for the lot that He has given us. An architectural complex will be lifted up, and that with God’s will, it will have a ConventionsCenter with 8.000 seats, a pastoral and administrative building, an educational building, and a shopping center. In his word, God promises several kind of recompenses for the people that give to his house. God considers a good thing the interest and the desire to build his sanctuary. 1st Kings 8:18 "And the Lord said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to build an house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart”. Let’s see some recompenses of God: 1.- ANSWER TO PRAYER: The offering increases and strengthens the divine answer to our prayer.

Solomon was the human instrument to build the splendid temple. He asked God to compromise to answer the prayers made in that house. 1stKings 8:29-30 "That thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there: that thou mayest hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall make toward this place. And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: and hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place: and when thou hearest, forgive”. For that reason Christ said: “My house, prayer house will be called by all the nations”. 2.-MIRACLES OF HEALING: Luke 7: 4-5 “And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this: For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue”. Here we find how Jesus healed the servant of a centurion, who was in death agony. Some leaders of the Jews said to the Master that this man was worthy to receive that prodigy because he was a generous person, who had built a Synagogue.

In 2003, in our church, there was a woman who was diagnosed with cancer and her breast would have to be amputated. She believed God and she sowed all that she had in her salary savings (five million pesos or US$2.500). The Lord didn't allow that they amputated her breast, her husband also believed in the Lord and today both come to the church. 3.- A GOOD REPUTATION: Proverbs 22: 1 “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold”. Matthew 26 relates the history of Jesus' unction for a woman that poured on Jesus an expensive perfume (this is equal to the minimum salary in one year). Because of this act of generosity Jesus made a decree: Matthew 26: 13 "Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her”. 4.- FULLNESS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: 2nd Chronicles 7:1-2 "Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the house. And the priests could not enter into the house of the Lord, because the glory of the Lord had filled the Lord’s house”.
In the New Testament, the Holy Spirit fell upon Cornelius and his companions, because of his fear of God and his generosity. Acts 10:1 -2 "There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band, A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God always”. 5.- FINANCIAL PROVISION: Benny Hinn told the testimony of an offering that arrived to his organization of U$266.50 but he put attention to the cents. When they called to the marriage who gave the offering, they noticed that they were having big economic problems. In the next few weeks, they discovered petroleum in their house. The operating company of the black gold gave them thousands of dollars.

Let’s notice that the Holy Spirit descended in the dedication of the temple upon all the givers.
