Our English word willing is translated from the flesh that can cause distractions. Don't go to

This word is often translated in the Bible as

The sons of Zebedee were James and John. Jesus was distressed about something.
This Scripture is the reason you have often heard me say to try things three times. Don't be a quitter, if your MATTHEW 26:38 Then saith He unto them, "My soul first attempt fails. Pray about it, and make necessary ad is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, justments. If success evades you after three attempts, you know it wasn't God's will and move on to something else. and watch with Me."
It is important to differentiate between flesh and spirit. It was His soul that was sorrowful, and His instruction to the three disciples was to watch.
MA TTHEW 26:45-46 Then cometh He to His diSCiples, and saith unto them, "Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed unto the hands of sinners. ~ Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray Me."

We are to serve God with a perfect heart and a willing mind. This could be translated, "with mature flesh and a This one hour is a type for the hour of temptation willing soul". The spirit is passionately ready to serve God, but the flesh is weak. The flesh is easily sidetracked. We must learn to srrengthen our spirits to overrule our flesh. It

Solomon would follow the instructions and success fully complete the Temple. Was Solomon perfect? No, but guess what. Neither are we. Let's skip to verse twenty-one. I CHRONICLES 28:21 And, behold, the courses of the priests and the Levites, even they shall be with thee for all the service of the house of God: and there shall be with thee for all manner of workmanshr: every willing skilful man, for any manner of service: a.so the princes and all the People will be wholly at thy commandment. u
Here is another important lesson for us to absorb. Not only will God utilize willing servants, He needs skilful servants, as well. How do we grow skilful? By studying His Word. Discipline yourself, and set the example for others. Let's turn to Hebrews. God doesn't only expect us to be willing, He is also willing. HEBREWS 6: 13-14 For when God made promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no greater, He sware by Himself, 14 Saying, "Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee."
When God swears by Himself, you can count on it.

II PETER 3:4-5 And saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the cre ation. If 5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
They are willingly ignorant of the fact that there was a world age prior to this one and that there will be one that follows. They choose to be ignorant. Thank God that you have eyes to see and ears to hear. There is abso lutely no way that one could understand why they are here in this age today without understanding what hap pened in the first earth age and first heaven age. 1/ PETER 3:6-7 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: z But the heavens and the earth which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
The ungodly will face the judgment of the consum ing fire which is our Father (Hebrews 12:29). They will perish in the lake of fire. /I PETER 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the LORD as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
HEBREWS 6:15-16 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. 1Q For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.
One of man's days is equal to one thousand year's on God's calendar. How long is the Lord's day? The Loftfs day is a thousand years on man's calendar. This is the thousand years of Revelation Chapter 20.
The children of Abraham are as numerous as the sands of the sea.
/I PETER 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
HEBREWS 6:17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
Immutability means unchangeableness. You that are heirs to the promise can rest assured that God doesn't change His mind or His Word. HEBREWS 6:18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
Longsuffering means patient. I don't know about you, but I am surely thankful our Father is patient. God is not willing that any of His children should perish. That is God's will. He wants all of his children to come to repentance and love Him. Will they? No! Many are willingly ignorant rather than willing to serve. I am thankful that many of you choose to be passionately ready to serve your Father.
God is willing to do this for you. HEBREWS 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
God is willing to give both the promise and the covenant. You can anchor your soul to the fact that our hope, Jesus Christ, entered within the veil of the holy of holies and is there as your intercessor. You have access to God, if you seek Him. HEBREWS 6:20 Whither the Forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an High Priest for ever after the order of Melchisdec.
God is willing. He is passionately ready to keep His promise to those that serve Him, and He never changes His mind. We should be passionately ready to serve Him. In conclusion, let's turn to II Peter. We will pick it up with what the scoffers will be saying in the last days. We are going to compare God's willingness to man's willingness.
