Shepherds Bible Rev CHAPTER 22

1. And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

#Ezekiel 47 shows us that this water is going to flow equally to all twelve gates. This shows the fairness with which Yahveh will feed His peop le.

2. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing o f the nations.

# Remember this tree of life was planted in the garden of Eden. He put cheru-bims there to guard it. We knew that according to Luke 23:31. Christ is the tree, because only Yahveh gives life. The fruits are for the enjoyment of Israel who dwells within the new city. The leaves are for the healing of the nations bo th in and o ut of the city. Read Ezekiel 47 :12 a t this time. We know that sickness was do ne away with in Revelation 21:4. So here we see a divine provision for preserving- complete joy and fulfillment which is never boring or even coming near boredom throughout all eternity.

3. A nd there shall he no more curse: but the throne of God a nd o f the Lamb s ha ll be in it: and His servants shall serve Him:

# Compare this verse to Zechariah 14:11.

4. And they shall see His face: and His name shall be in their foreheads.

5. And there shall he no night there: and they need no candle, neither light of the sun: for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

# The Messiah and the saints reign for a thousand years. Here we see Yahveh reign for ever and ever.

6. And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show unto His servants the things which must shortly be done.

# He showed us all this so we would know what is going to happen, when it is going to happen, and what His servants must do.

7. Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

#Whereas, in verse 6 the angel is speaking, we see in verse 7 that Christ, Himself, is giving a very personal message to the elect. When viewed in conjunction with Revelation 3:11, we understand that by keeping and doing the prop hecy, you keep or retain the crown you have earned.

8. And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which showed me these things.

# This is the point where John was returned to his own age time frame, which was about 80 A.D.

9. Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.

# We see here what Christ meant in the parable of the laborers in His vineyard. Matthew 20:12 says that they were paid equally regardless of what time they were called to work. Thus, all Israel, resurrected to the immortal soul, is equal and become one family.

10. And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.

# He never intended us to be blind to the knowledge of this book. “Seal not the sayings’, it says.

11. He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

# After having a peek at the new world age where there is no pain, this verse jars us back into this world a ge, in which Christ was crucified a nd e ven to this time when Christian nations resemble Sodom and Gomorrah. May Yahveh hasten the da y of the new age. See that you are righteous and do His Holy work.

12. And, behold, I come quickly; and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

13. I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

14. B lessed are they that do H is commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, a nd may enter in through the gates into the city.

15. For without are dogs, and sorcer-ers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoe ver loveth and make th a lie.

16. I Jesus have sent Mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the roo t and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

# The city mentioned in verse 14 could not be the heavenly city, because at that time the sinners of verse 15 will have been cast into the lake of fire. It is obviously the millennial city, or camp of the saints, which is sur-rounded by Satan’s army (Rev. 20:9). In this verse is Christ’s last warning that He is the Messiah, the root and offspring of David, as foretold by the prophets that He, and He alone, is the bright and morning star. Luci- fer, which is the Hebrew word #l966, and means “bright star”, only claims to be the Messiah, but in fact is Satan, the leader of the army outside the millennial city.

17. And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

# The Spirit is Jesus and the br ide is the holy elect. The bride is not the whole house of Israel.

18. F or I testify unto e very man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19. And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

20. He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. A’- men. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

21. T he grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. A’- men.

#There is so much knowledge in this book. Each and every person, who is studying it, should take the ir con-corda nces and Bibles and search more and more, thereby learning even more abo ut the book of Revelation than is already known. Remember His words: “Study to show thyself approved unto God”. (II Timothy 2:15)
