our English word "pillar" is translated is "ammuwd" (am-mood'). The Hebrew prime root of this word is "amad" (aw-mad') which means to stand. You must stand for something. Pillars stand and uphold that which is above them. Let's begin our study in Revelation with Christ addressing one of the two churches He was pleased with, Philadelphia. Jesus told the people of this church that He set before them an open door that no man can shut. This open door is the truth of His Word.

REVELATION3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of My patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

PROVERBS 9:2 She hath killed he' beasts; . she hath mingled her wine; She hath also furnished her table.

Wisdom is preparing a great feast. Are you invited? PROVEBBS 9:3 She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth Upon the highest places of the city,

The word maidens should be translated young persons (masculine or feminine). The bride of Christ might come to lJ1i.nJ1. PROVERBS 9:4-5 Whoso is simple, let him tum in hither: As for him that wanteth understanding. she saith to him, Ii Gome, eat of my bread, And drink of the wine which I have mingled.

The flood of Satan's lies will cover all the world. Those that know the truth will not be tempted by Satan's lies. The others wiII be deceived. Those of you that know the truth should be prepared to be in the minority.

The word simple III verse four means seduceable. Those that aren't stable in God's Word are seduceable. They should turn to Wisdom.

REVELA nON 3: 11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

PROVERBS 9:6 Forsake the foolish, and Jive; And go in the way of understanding.

You had better have a little starch in your backbone. You had better be willing to make a stand for Jesus Christ. If you don't, someone is likely to take your crown, that is your reward, right off your head. Is it possible for one of you to be tempted? I don't think so; however, you had better be prepared.

You that have a problem planting seeds and leaving them alone should pay close attention to this verse. Only God causes seeds to germinate; you don't.

REVELA nON 3: 12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the Temple of My God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from My God: and I will write upon him My new name.

Don't waste your time on scorners and wicked people. They don't care and will throw anything you try to give them back in you face. Keep your pearls for those that Wisdom would have you give.

God has set aside 7,000 that will not bow a knee to Baal. These 7,000 elect are the seven pillars. The prime of pillar, "amad" (aw-mad'), can also mean ordained. We have predestination within this word. It is important to note these pillars are hewn. Just allow yourself to get on an ego trip about all of this, and you will understand this verse. God will do a little whittling on you to shape you up. When he shapes you up, say thank you Father and go to work by helping His children that are in darkness. His blessings will follow. If you don't shape up, you can expect some serious hewing and no blessings.

PROVERBS 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning

of wisdom: And the knowledge of the holy is understand­ ing.

PROVERBS 9:7 He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: And he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth

himself a blot.

You receive the benefits of being wise. If you scorn wisdom, you will pay the price. Unfortunately, so will God's children that you could be helping. You may also

expect some whittling from your Father. There is another

pillar in Genesis that will add to our study. This pillar started out as a pilloW. Let's turn there. GENESIS 28: 10 And Jacob went out from Beer-sheba, and went toward Haran.

Esau had taken two Canaanite women to wife. God and Esau's parents weren't happy with his choice. Jacob

was on his way to Laban's house to take a wife with

his father's blessing. He also had Father's blessing. GENESIS 28:11 And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.

The word pillow means headrest. It also can mean

headship. So, here we have the future seed line of Israel resting his head on a stone. GENESIS 28:12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending

on it.

What is a ladder? A ladder is a way to get from one point to another. Jesus Christ is the way for you to enter

heaven. He is our rest, as well. GENESIS 28:13-14 And, behold, the LORD stood above

it, and said, "I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father,

and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed; H. And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

This was God's covenant with Jacob and his children. All races would be blessed by the birth of Messiah through

this seed line. That is all that would believe upon Him.

Spiritually, this means, God will gi ve you truth and knowledge, if you are willing to work. GENESIS 28:21-22 So that I come again to my father's house in peace; then shall the LORD be my God: 22 And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's house: and of all that Thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto Thee."

That stone, also known as Jacob's pillar, would be carried by Israel as they migrated north. That stone would eventually be placed directly under the coronation chair. The first charge of the British royal family is protector of the faith. It all began with that pillow that became a pillar opening the gates of heaven through Jesus Christ. In conclusion, let's turn back to Proverbs.

PROVERBS 10:3 The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: But He casteth away the substance of the wicked.

The seven pillars we covered in Chapter 9 of Prov­ erbs that uphold that which is above are what makes the many membered body of Christ click. They will not suffer the famine of the end time which is the lack of hearing God's Word (Amos 8:11).

PROVERBS 10:4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: But the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

A slack hand means lazy. I'm not talking about what you do with your hands so much as what you do with your mind. Exercise your mind in God's Word. Pray for wisdom and knowledge. Don't allow yourself to become puffed up because you are a pillar in God's Temple. There is work to be done. God's children need your help. Be a worthy pillar willing to carry your share of the weight.

promises.

Dreadful would be better translated awesome. Jesus Christ is your gate to heaven. He is the way. GENESIS 28:18 And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it.

This pillar is known as the Stone of Scone today. Jacob ordained the stone by anointing it with the oil of ,our people. GENESIS 28:19-20 And he called the name of that place
