Short listed candidates will be called for Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews. If a candidate possesses higher qualification with better percentage, his higher qualification will be considered for cut off. Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) (IHQMoD (Navy)) reserves the right to short-list applications and to fix cut off percentage without assigning any reason. No communication will be entertained on this account.

SSB interviews for Short-listed candidates will be scheduled during Jan – Jun 2010 at Bangalore, Bhopal or Coimbatore.

The SSB interview is conducted for a period of five days in two stages. Stage-1 includes Intelligence test, Picture perception test & Group discussion and is conducted on the first day. The candidates who qualify Stage-1 are made to appear for Stage-2 and the rest are sent back on the same day. The Stage-2 includes Psychological tests, Group Tasks and personal interview conducted over the balance four days. The successful candidates would then have to clear a special medical examination at the same venue (approximate duration 3-5 days).

Candidates recommended by the SSBs and declared medically fit will be appointed for training in order of all India Merit depending on the number of vacancies. Change of SSB Centre for interview is not permissible under any circumstances.

Candidates who wish to change their SSB dates must apply to the President of the SSB. Award of fresh dates for SSB would be subject to availibility at respective SSB.

Any injury sustained during the SSB interview will not be compensated.

‘Candidates appearing for SSB interview for the first time for this entry would be free rail sleeper class return fare’.

The training is scheduled to commence in the month of Jul 2010.

Candidates will be inducted as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo Naval Orientation Course at the Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala followed by professional training at various Naval Training Establishments/Units/Ships. Full pay and allowances are admissible to officers whilst undergoing training.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS 9.

You will be on probation for a period of two years from the date of reporting to the Naval Academy or the date of commencement of training, whichever is later. However, you are liable to be discharged if your performance is unsatisfactory. Any candidate who is found to be

married or marries while undergoing training will be discharged and shall be liable to refund full pay & allowances drawn by him and expenditure incurred on him by the Government.

SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION 10.

Short Service Commission is granted for a term of 10 years, extendable to 14 years, subject to service requirement and performance / willingness of the candidate. On completion of these tenures, officers are released with gratuity as admissible under the rules. Disciplined life, leadership qualities and professional skills imbibed during the service would stand as added advantages in acquiring second career post exit from the Navy.

DUTIES OF NAIC OFFICER

11. As a Naval Armament Inspection officer, you will be responsible for inspection of the armament supplied to the Navy by various agencies. You will also be responsible for in-house Research Development, leading to indigenisation, and will have to ensure the quality, safety and reliability of Naval Armament and Stores procured by the Navy . In no other career, an officer gets exposed to such a wide spectrum of opportunities to keep abreast of modern and latest technological development in the field of armament. To enable you to perform your duties diligently, the Navy will provide you with some of the finest training facilities, which will turn you into a skilled professional, mentally agile and a physically fit officer.

The dates for payment of fees would be the same even for candidates applying from far-flung areas. No other mode of payment of application fee would be acceptable. Fees once paid will not be refunded. Even if the Bank extends the last date of Registration due to technical reasons, the valid dates during which the fee would need to be paid would not change and would remain the same as mentioned above. CEPTAM ENCOURAGES ONLINE APPLICATIONS

1. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA A) The essential educational qualification, age etc as stipulated in SECTION - ‘A’ shall be determined with reference to the closing date as mentioned in advertisement. B) Candidates must have read the required subject at least for 2 years in the degree programme. Candidates possessing the higher qualifications viz M.Sc., B.Tech., BE Degree etc. shall not be considered for recruitment. C) The candidates must be a citizen of India. D) Candidates must be in good mental & physical health and free from any physical deformity which may interfere in efficient discharge of duties. A candidate will be medically examined during completion of pre-appointment formalities. E) Government servants must apply through proper channel. F) At any stage of selection process, if it is found on verification that an individual fails to fulfill any of the eligibility criteria, his/her candidature shall be cancelled without notice and no representation in this regard shall be entertained under any circumstances. 2. RESERVATION BENEFITS A) Reservation benefits will be available to the candidates in accordance with the instructions/ orders/circulars, issued by Govt. of India from time to time. IMPORTANT: candidates who wish to be considered against reserved vacancies seeking age & fee relaxation, must support their claim by submitting duly attested copies of relevant certificates issued by Govt. of India notified Competent authority along with their application, otherwise their claim for any relaxation/reservation etc will not be entertained and their application will be considered as General category (UR). PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS For the post of Fireman ‘A’, Fire Engine Driver, etc. where physical fitness is necessary for during discharge of the duties, it is mandatory to pass the prescribed Physical Endurance & Medical tests as per DRDO norms. 6. FORMAT OF APPLICATION Application must be typed on A-4 size white plain paper only and in exact same format as provided in Advertisement or may be downloaded from the website www.drdo.org. The variation in the format of application will lead to rejection of application. 7. MODE OF SELECTION A) All the eligible candidates will be called for written exam; however the detailed scrutiny will be conducted and documents will be critically examined / verified in respect of their claim for eligibility before the interview. B) Candidate will be shortlisted on valid criteria as prescribed & adopted by CEPTAM and selection will be based on pooled merit of post/category/sub-category of the candidate which will be based on the marks obtained in Written Exam and Interview taken together. C) It will be mandatory for the candidates to pass relevant Trade/Skill Test as applicable (including Stenography & Typing etc.), Physical Endurance Test, Driving test and Medical test as may be applicable as per SECTION-’A’ of advertisement/ recruitment rules. 8. EXAMINATION CENTRES The Written Exam shall be conducted in the following cities Note: * Place of posting is provisional. SCHEME OF EXAMINATION: The written examination will be OMR based and of two hours duration, consisting of 150 multiple choice questions for all posts. A) For STA ‘B’ & Technician ‘A’ : The written test will consist of (i) 30 questions on General Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability and (ii) 120 Questions on Subject concerned. B) Admin & Allied Cadre: For Post of Personal Asstt, Admin Asstt, Store Asstt, canteen Manager, Fire Engine Driver, Fireman, Cook, the written test will consist of (i) 100 Questions on General Awareness, General Reasoning, Arithmetic and Numerical Ability & Trade related question, if applicable (ii) 50 Questions on Hindi or English language. For the post of Asstt Hindi, the written test will consist of (i) 50 Questions on General Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and Numerical Ability and (ii)100 Questions each on Hindi & English Language. 10. SYALLABUS AND MEDIUM OF EXAMINATION: The syllabus of the examination will be based on the minimum essential qualification of the post as per advertisement and recruitment rules. The medium for Written Exam will be Hindi or English except for language specific papers. 11. DATE, CENTRE AND VENUE OF EXAMINATION: The examination for all the posts will be conducted on same DATE & TIME all over the .country. The tentative date of examination is 07'” Feb 2010 (SUNDAY). However the exact date, time, Examination Centre will be intimated to the* eligible candidates by post. The same will also be available on our website www.drdo.org. No request for change of examination centre shall be entertained. 12. OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS: Any dispute with regard to the selection/recruitment process will be subject to Courts /Tribunals having jurisdiction in DELHI. The selected candidates are liable to serve anywhere in India, including that of field conditions/remote areas as per requirement.
