Sachsagreedto conductan independentreview of an intelligence-gathering operationundertakenby the Maryland StatePolice from March 2005 to May 2006. Mr. Sachs' report was releasedon October 1, 2008. His report madeseveralrecommendationsfor actionby the Maryland StatePolice, amongwhich was to contactall individualswho arepresently describedin the MSP's CaseExplorer databaseprogramas being 1'suspected of involvementin terrorismbut as to whom MSP hasno evidencewhatsoeverof any involvementin violent crime." Additionally, the report recommendedthat MSP provide theseindividualsthe opportunity to review the relevant CaseExplorer entriesbefore purging theseentries.I agreedto this recommendation. You are one of the individualswhosename was placedin the CaseExplorer systemunder this designation. Accordingly, I am writing to you to provide the opportunity for you to review the relevantentriesbeforethe Maryland StatePolice beginsto purgetheseentries.
