Tim Writes  Life seems often to come in stages. Birth, schooling, work, marriage, children and now for Nicky and I the leaving home of children and the death of our last grandparent. At each stage you face things you never had to before and yet strangely, like most I suspect, we feel prepared and up to the task because of previous life experience and the knowledge that prayer and faith undergirds much of what we do. However the one thing that does filter into your conscious thought more often as you get older is your own mortality, the shortness of the time remaining and the need to use it well and wisely. It's not that as a Christian I fear death, in some respects I look forward to the life to come, but in having said that there is the implicit acknowledgement that it will be the final stage and it heightens the need to make the most of what remains of this life. Paul said something similar in Philippians "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful

FRIENDSHIPS KIDS Started its 2009 year on TUESDAY 17th. MARCH. This year our programme will commence at 6:30pm. Finishing at 7:45pm. We had a rewarding time last year and the

AGM AND NOMINATIONS The AGM will be on the 19th of April immediately after the 10:30am service at Cobden. We will have a quick cuppa and then reconvene for our discussions. Those presenting reports like the wardens and ministry team leaders will need to get busy soon. Also we are looking for nominations for vestry members and people's warden.

ELECTORAL ROLL In order to be able to vote at the AGM or stand for office you must be on the electoral roll. A copy is at the back of each church. If you are not on it already but would like to be and meet the requirements then the forms are sitting at the back of the church. Can I encourage everyone to think seriously about signing this form. It says something about your commitment to this church as your spiritual home.

children were a pleasure to teach. We look forward to having them back for another year. FUNERAL Nicky's grandmother's funeral went well and was a fitting tribute to her life. For me it was an honour to be able to take it. As a family Nicky and I once again want to thank everyone for all the expressions of sympathy and support we have received. ANNIVERSARY PICNIC Our picnic co-incides with the deconsecration of the of old Cobden church on the 16th of March 50 years ago by Vicar, Rev LK Dentith. This Sunday is the closest to the dedication and opening of the current Church.
