Summer Schedule!! Sundays—10:30 am and 8:00 p.m. This week: MWF 12:05 pm, TTh 12:30 pm Week of May 25th — Closed. No Daily Mass (St. Austin’s has Masses at 8 am and 5:20 pm, M-Th and at 8 am on Friday). Remainder of Summer: M-F 12:05 pm in the Mother Teresa Rm. Reconciliation: Monday and Tuesday—12:30 pm and by appt The building will be open from 9 am to 5 pm, M-Th. Eggroll Sale! Indonesian Catholic Community (ICC) will be having an eggroll sale on May 17 after Sunday Masses. The purpose of this event is to raise funds for a church's construction in Indonesia that has been destroyed by an earthquake. Please participate in this event and help our brothers and sisters rebuild their church because it is the only church that serve that area and it has not been reconstructed for 3 years. Graduation Mass! We will honor graduates at both Masses (10:30 am and 8:00 pm). Bring your family & wear your gowns! Congrats on all of your hard work and study. From the staff, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives during this time of learning, growth and development. May God be with you all!

The Spring 2009 Marriage Preparation Workshop As always, faithful UCC community and staff members were of major support to the two-day effort. They served as presenters, cooks and food servers, food providers, musicians, set-up teams and kid-sitters: Betty & Ricardo Flores, Mary Lea McAnally & Brit Pasloske, Sara & Tom Lucas, Aida & J.P. Regalado, Anne & Steve Gilbert, Patricia Bauer-Slate & Dr. Joseph Slate, Amelia Perry & Nate Erickson (who will wed in December), Cathy & Sam Mihalik, Deena & Denis Kohl, Cynthia & Kris Carter, Janice & Nick Jackson, Amy & Michael Burkhart, Eugene Matir, Rosa Marroquin, Maricar Reyes, Amanda Longoria, Daniel Hawkins, Jimmy Rose, and Brandon Kraft. Fr. Ed Nowak was a guiding presence with Dorothy & Deacon John De La Garza serving as coordinators. Our next workshop will be Nov. 13-14, and registration will open in late August.

Calcutta, India Have you ever considered stretching yourself for some very rewarding work? If you are interested in spending several weeks helping the Missionaries of Charity (Mother Teresa's order of nuns) in Calcutta, India, please contact Fr. Good luck on your last finals! New Parking for 8:00 pm! St. Austin’s is now allowing us to use their new garage at San Antonio and MLK for 8:00 p.m. Mass only! For all other Masses, the only lot for the University Catholic Center is the lot to our west between our building and Dobie Mall. Our Gifts to God Last week’s collection: $2183.66 Last week’s expected collection from the budget: $2265 Last week’s Black Bag collection: $525.33 Thank you all very much for your generous support of the mission trips at the University Catholic Center. The total cost of sending one student the Spring Break mission trip this year was over $1,200, so every donation makes an impact. Thanks and God bless! Senior’s Last Supper Our Seniors’ Last Supper was a time for the Class of 2009 to come together to commemorate their time at UT and look forward to the future. At the dinner, four of our graduating seniors generously pledged a $1000 gift to start the Class of 2009 endowment. These gifts will ensure continued growth of the UCC in the future. The fund is not complete yet and still needs your help! If you are graduating and would like to be a part of the legacy please contact Vanessa Mena at [email protected].

We gather in the Atrium at 7 pm and move to the Mother Teresa room at 7:30 pm. Vocations Corner If you are interested in talking more about a possible vocation to the priesthood, call Fr. Ed Nowak at 512-476-7351 x17 or Fr. Mike Sis, diocesan vocations director, at 512-949-2405. Oblate Vocations Retreat, May 22-24- Men, ages 18-37 are invited to visit the OMI Novitiate in Godfrey, IL. The Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate are religious priests and brothers who have preached the Gospel to the poor since 1816. The UCC will be closed on Fridays in June and July and daily Mass will not be celebrated. The office will be open M-Th 9 am to 5 p.m. Micah 6 Food Pantry UCC participates in the ecumenical Micah 6 food pantry through donation and volunteering on Thursdays and Saturdays. Don’t forget our “neighbors” who have nothing during the summer. Please bring canned goods and packaged dry goods to Sunday Mass for the baskets near the fountain.
