Educational Qualification: The candidate must have passed at least a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent examination from a recognized University. 4. Age Limit : The candidates shall not be less than 21 years and more than 32 years as on 01.01.2009. The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years in case of SC/ST and women candidates, 3 years incase of SEBC candidates, 10 years incase of physically handicapped candidates and for ExServicemen, the period of entire admissible service rendered as per rule. Only one type of relaxation in age is admissible. 5. Procedure for Selection (i) The selection of candidates shall be made on the basis of the marks secured by them in the Secondary (Matriculation), Higher Secondary (+2) and Graduation Examinations conducted by a recognized Board, Council, or University, as the case may be. (ii) Weightage shall be assigned to the marks obtained by the candidates in the examinations in the following manner: Secondary (Matriculation) 30% Higher Secondary (Plus two) 30% Graduation (Bachelor’s degree) 40% (iii) The merit list shall bo drawn up on the basis of weightage percentage of marks obtained in the three examinations mentioned in sub-para (i) and (ii) of this paragraph, (iv) In, case more than one candidate has equal weightage percentage of marks, the candidate with higher percentage of marks in Degree examination shall be assigned higher rank in merit. In case this also become the same, the candidate older in age shall be placed above the younger. 6. General eligibility criteria of the candidate : In order to be eligible for recruitment to the above posts, a candidate must satisfy the following conditions: He/ She (a) shall be a citizen of India; (b) shall possess requisite qualification (educational and age eligibility) shown at para 3 & 4 above; (c) be able to speak, read and write Oriya and have passed a language test in Oriya equivalent to Middle School Standard; (d) must not have more than one spouse living; (e) shall have good moral character; (f)shall be of sound, health, good physique, active habits, and far from any organic defect or bodily deformity. (g) -must not have been debarred from appearing in any other competitive examination and holding Government Service as ordered by Competent Authority; 7. Guidelines for proper filling up of OMR form : Since final merit list shall be drawn on the basis of weightage percentage of marks obtained in three examinations like Secondary (Matriculation), Higher Secondary (+2) and Graduation Examinations, column-14 of the OMR form dealing with Educational Qualification needs to be correctly filled up as per the following guideline. (I) Secondary, (Matriculation): The percentage of mark obtained will be calculated as per the following formula. Total marks obtained in all the papers X 100 : Total marks (ii) Higher Secondary (+2) (a) Total marks obtained in all the papers including extra optional subjects x 100 Total marks

However, if a candidate has passed appearing compartmental examination then his new mark will be taken into consideration for calculation of total marks, (b) Total marks obtained in all the papers (including compulsory papers, elective, ancillary and foundation & Honours subjects x 100 -Total marks

(iii) Graduation : For calculating the percentage of marks obtained, the same formula as above will be adopted. Since no special weightage is allotted for Honours or Distinction, those who have passed either with honours or Distinction, will adopt the same procedure as above for calculating the percentage of marks obtained. Those who have passed having compartmental paper(s) or back paper(s), while calculating the percentage of marks obtained will only add the marks obtained by them the paper(s) finally passed by them and ignore the previous marks obtained in the back paper(s). The above guidelines are only indicative and not exhaustive. It is reiterated that since only percentage of marks obtained will be considered for giving weightage, a candidate while filling up of the relevant column of OMR application form will calculate as per the formula mentioned above. The responsibility of filling up the information correctly lies with the candidate and authority will not be responsible for any wrong or misleading information.

A sample copy illustrating the manner of calculating percentage of marks is enclosed with the application form which should be gone through very carefully before filling up the relevant column of the application form. 12. Help Desk In order to provide guidance to the applicants in case of necessity, a Help Desk (06742395238) will function in the Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Department with effect from 20.11.2009 to 15.12,2009 from 11 A.M. to 4.30 P.M. on every working day. The courses offered by Autonomous Institution should be equivalent to the relevant course approved / recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

2) Eligibility: In order to be eligible for engagement, a candidate must satisfy the following conditions : (a) He/She must be a Citizen of India, (b) (i) Must have passed the High School Certificate or an equivalent or any higher examination with Oriya as a language subject or (ii) Must have Oriya as a medium of examinations in nonlanguage subjects at the H.S.C or equivalent examination, (c) He/ She shall be above 21 years of age and not more than 42 years of age as on the 1st November 2009. Incase of Hindi Teacher a candidate must have passed Bachelor's degree from a recognized University with Hindi as one of the elective subject or with Rastravasha Ratna from Rastravasha Prachar Samiti, Wardha or with Shastri from Orissa Rastra Bhasa Parishad,Puri or with Snataka (Acquired by June 2005 the date upto which temporary recognition had been granted) from Hindi Siskhya Samiti Orissa Cuttack or an equivalent degree from a recognized institution and Hindi Siskhyan Parangata from Kendriya Hindi Sanstan, Agra/Hindi Teachers training certificate course from Hindi Training Institutions, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar & Sambalpur. The contract will be valid up to the end of February from the date of engagement and can be terminated without assigning any reason thereof. Fresh contract can be made on fresh application for a period of another year. While making fresh contract sincerity, integrity, conduct and performance of the contract teacher will be reviewed by the concerned Inspector of Schools. The concerned Headmaster shall maintain detailed records on performance of the contractual teacher concerned. 5) Selection: (i) The candidates shall submit Residential Certificate as proof of residence in the Revenue District to which they belong. A candidate may make an application for any Education Circle irrespective of his home Education Circle subject to condition that he shall apply in respect of any one Education

The candidate shall have to furnish an affidavit to the effect that he/she has not made application for engagement of Contract Teacher in any Educational Circle other than the Education Circle applied for in his/her application. Applications are invited from the intending Candidates for the eligibility test for Ph.D. Registration under various faculties of the Sambalpur University. Eligibility: Masters Degree holders in Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, Education, Law & Medical (Allopathy, Ayurvedic & Homoeopathy) Examinations of Sambalpur University or any other University recognised as equivalent thereto by UGC with at least 2nd Class marks in relevant subject(s) are eligible for Ph.D. registration. Subjects in which the marks are not awarded, equivalent grade point shall be taken as qualifying grade/marks.
