Japan is reported to be bidding for the 2016 Olympic Games and the IOC panel is said to be very supportive of it. It's looking more like a collusion between two unholy Galahads. The IOC panel is overwhelmingly composed of European bosses and the Japan of today has little moral authority to bid for the Games, much less be favoured as the 2016 host. Japan has already held the Games in 1964 but the sixties was a time when Japan was just emerging as an economic miracle after the mindless destruction of the Second World War. Today, however, things are way different. Japan is very, very prosperous and its society very advanced. But its national & international conduct is totally something else. Austria, part of the German WW2 Third Reich is now a country that practises a policy of neutrality like Switzerland. Germany, the defeated Axis uberpower, has renounced all ties and connections with its fascist past, apologised to all the victims of its wartime atrocities and paid full compensations to them. Japan has followed neither of the example of the two nations. The country has continually honoured the memory of its wartime criminals in full defiance of its neighbours who suffered so unspeakably when they were overrun by the Japanese military from the thirties to the end of WW2. Japan together with the US has continued to develop cutting edge weapon systems and put them into operational use in the Pacific. These very advanced systems help the US military to maintain a provocative and reckless and dangerous stance in the area that heighten international tensions and raise dire prospects of armed conflict. Neutrality is an unknown word in the Japanese vocabulary. Japan has consistently refused to pay compensation to victims of its wartime atrocities despite irrefutable evidence of the very inhuman acts of its soldiers and military commanders on the grounds that the compensation issue has already been laid to rest. The horrible criminal acts of the Japanese during WW2 cannot be bounded by time statutes. The crimes were so inhuman in nature that even wild animals could not be capable of doing them. Japan has continuously tried to complement US efforts to isolate and starve North Korea, harm its inhabitants and maintain the Korean peninsula in a state of tension. This is to provide the needed excuse to keep nuclear arsenals ready at hand in Korea and Japan mainland bases besides forcing all the respective governments in the region to keep very large armies. There is a very great reluctance to resolve political issues through negotiations, instead Japan has continuously tried to aggravate quarrels in the Korean peninsula by instigating the
others to keep a hardline stance. We should never forget how Japan trampled on the Koreans when she was ruling over Korea. Today the Koreans are still not completely free of this evil spirit. In Japan itself, even today, the government together with many right-wing groups has tried to deny the past and from time to time, has tried to alter bits and pieces of the history of the terrible period when Japanese soldiers ran wild all over much of eastern Asia. The reports and stories of extremely horrible Japanese conduct were suppressed or were labelled as untrue. The IOC & all others must never forget the actions of Unit 731 and its other sister organisations. Unit 731 was involved in human experimentations conducted under very cruel, uncivilised and unbelievable conditions. Unit 731 and other similar groups also regularly carried out chemical and biological warfare against civilians as well as military targets. Unit 731 and the like were not the only guilty ones. Japanese army units attacked civilians as though they were enemy soldiers and the killings of innocent human beings were often regarded as contests. Torture was turned into an art by the two-legged animals in uniform. Despite the unmentionable horrors, Japan has demonstrated that it harbours no remorse and its view is that the past should belong to the past. There is no sincere desire to apologise or atone for its terrible doings and it has not followed the example of Germany. Today right-wing groups in Japan are still alive and well and continue to have a great influence on society. War criminals are regularly worshipped and this has encouraged the young generations to view things in a different light. Japan has no moral authority to host the Games in 2016. None at all. It would be very, very dastardly inconsiderate for the IOC to think otherwise. There is no basis for the IOC to consider any Japanese bid to hold the Games until the Korean peninsula becomes free of confrontation. Let the Koreans be able to enjoy peace and reconciliation first. The Japanese should also offer token compensation at the very least to all those who were victims of its horrible past and to renounce all kinds of military adventures forever. Japan, ultimately, has to decide whether it's necessary to become a nation of neutrality and demand itself be free of all foreign military bases. If only out of respect for all the souls of those who died as a result of its unbelievable cruelty. Japan cannot run away from its historical obligations.
