Welcome to the 2008-2009 CYSA State Cup! Included in the informational packet you will find the phone numbers of the CYSA State Cup District Coordinators, the hotline numbers for each district, directional and field maps, credentials check in instructions, the schedule of games, and a report of individuals who have suspensions yet to be served in CYSA Cup. Any discrepancies on the Cup Suspension List should be brought to the attention of the Cup Committee Chair and the CYSA Programs Coordinator immediately so that we can research and resolve any potential problems. Teams playing on the synthetic turf fields will note that there are more stringent rules that apply to the turf fields. Please make note of those rules and abide by them. To receive the most up-to-date information please refer to the CYSA website or the hotline number which is provided. PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO LEAVE MESSAGES ON THE HOTLINE; IT IS FOR OUTGOING MESSAGES ONLY. If after using these resources you still have questions, you should contact the CYSA State Cup Coordinator from the district in which your team is registered. While we have provided a set of maps in the packet, you may wish to advise your team that the web site has a link to all of the field maps. Further, the web site also has the brackets and the schedules for all of the teams posted. PLEASE ADVISE YOUR TEAM MEMBERS OF THE INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS PACKET THAT IS RELEVANT TO THEIR STATE CUP GAMES. The following information is provided to assist you in having an enjoyable CYSA State Cup experience. 1. Please remember that weather can change the original play date to an alternate date. Teams must be available for any posted play date. 2. PLEASE refer to the CYSA State Cup rules in the 2008-2009 CYSA Team Manual. It is recommended that you have these rules with you throughout the competition. You will be held responsible for knowing and following these rules. You agreed to this when you submitted your CYSA State Cup entry form. 3. Although it is typically the primary source of information, DO NOT rely solely on the CYSA web site for up-to-date information. It is important that you call the hotline number of the district you are playing to get last minute information (hotline numbers will be posted on the website). This is especially important if the weather is an issue. If you have any other questions, please contact the State Cup Coordinator from your home district:

Please call the district hotline phone number, for the district which is hosting the venue at which your team is scheduled to play. The hotline will have information regarding field changes, weather conditions or important CYSA State Cup information. THIS IS AN OUTGOING MESSAGE ONLY!! Unserved Suspensions for CYSA Cup Play It is the team's responsibility to ensure that the individuals who are ineligible to participate due to suspensions from CYSA Cup matches in previous seasons do not participate in any CYSA State Cup matches until their suspension has been served in subsequent CYSA Cup games. CYSA Cup suspensions carry over from one season to the next season and the suspensions earned in CYSA Cup matches may be served only during CYSA Cup matches, Region IV Championships or in the National Championship Series games. NO EXCEPTIONS! Accordingly the individuals included on the CYSA Cup Suspensions to be Served list are NOT eligible to participate in the 2008-2009 CYSA Association Cup until they have served their suspension according to these requirements. The CYSA Cup Suspensions to be Served list is included in this pamphlet. This list will also be at each credential check-in during CYSA Cup Play. In addition to showing the number of games assessed for each individual’s suspension, the list will include the suspended individual’s name, birth date, the name of team with which they earned their suspension, their CYSA identification number at the time the suspension was earned, and it will show the dates on which games that count toward the serving of the suspension were played. When the team representative checks in the team, he/she needs to inform the Cup Coordinator at the credentials check-in that the team has an individual who needs to serve a suspension. The member pass for the suspended individual should be turned into the Cup Coordinator when you check your team in. The pass will be returned to you when the suspended individual has served his/her entire suspension and is eligible to participate. It is important to note that allowing a suspended player or coach to participate in a CYSA State Cup match prior to their suspension being served in its entirety will result in the team forfeiting any game in which that individual participated. Forfeiting one game automatically disqualifies a team from CYSA State Cup.

2009 State Cup Calendar PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL SCHEDULED CYSA STATE CUP COMPETITION DATES ARE TENTATIVE AND MAY BE CHANGED DUE TO WEATHER OR OTHER UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES. ANY TEAM ENTERING CYSA STATE CUP COMPETITION AGREES TO PLAY AT ANY VENUE WITHIN THE CYSA GEOGRAPHICAL BOUNDARIES. GAME DATES, TIMES AND LOCATIONS MAY BE CHANGED AS CONDITIONS AND CIRCUMSTANCES DICTATE.
