Dear Mr Stapleton, DEBENTURES I sincerely hope that the New Year started better for you than the previous one ended, and you have all my positive thoughts for the few months ahead. Two weeks ago I returned my debenture certificates to you by courier and under the auspices of my attorney, Elke de Klerk. Naturally the expectation was that there would be at least some kind of response from Edwafin. Even if you could not return my money at such short notice, I am rather disappointed that some kind of acknowledgement was not forthcoming. From my recent correspondence with you, I concluded that you are a responsible and sincere person and I find it difficult to comprehend that there has only been a deadly silence about the matter. Anyway, I now find myself in a bit of a spot; what do I do now? Do I pursue the matter further with legal assistance or do I go public and submit all the relevant documents and facts to the various bodies and news agents? Or do I do both? To be quite honest, both options have a sense of aggressiveness, spitefulness and unpleasantness about them, and I am reticent to pursue any such means. However, you (Edwafin) made the rules and I agreed to them, and now want to play by them. The deafening silence from Edwafin’s side makes the situation unpleasant and untenable and convinces me even more that you are bankrupt and unable to make good on your commitments. In that case it strengthens my conviction that I have nothing to lose by acting more energetically. As you may have deduced, this letter is meant to elicit your suggestions and advice, and I truly hope that some positive working plan may arise from it. Yours sincerely (and impatiently)
Dr Mario Koppers
