As 2008 dawns bright and full of promise, we would like to express our sincere gratitude for all your support during 2007. Meanwhile, we would like to share some of our major accomplishments during the year with you and our outlook for this new year. In short, 2007 was a wonderful year for Xinhua PR Newswire on many fronts. During those 12 months, more than 300 new leading companies and organizations joined our membership to take advantage of our wide range of text and multimedia news distribution, monitoring, regulatory filing, webcasting and conference call services. More encouraging was the fact that as a clear sign of growing satisfaction of our strengthening services, our client retention rate went up from 95% to 98%. Keenly aware that one of the main reasons clients rely on us is our media penetration in the markets we serve. We continued to focus on building our distribution network. In China, our media relations colleagues working out of our Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen offices added over 2,500 key journalists to our mainland China network, bringing to the total number of journalists we send news releases to 9,000, who represent 3,000 leading newspapers, magazines, and websites across China. We also launched some exciting new products and services, including our US Internet Photo Distribution Service (IPD), Mainland China Photo Distribution Service and News Cartoon/Illustration Service to help clients utilize the new tools now made available by new technologies to better communicate with the media, the investment and industry communities. We also introduced the Chinese ProfNet Service to help both the corporations and journalists connect with each other. On the investor relations side, while continuing our leadership in the market for the US-listed companies, we worked with our colleagues in the different markets of Europe to provide disclosure and other investor communication services for Chinese companies that are looking to stock exchanges in London, Frankfurt and other cities for listing. In response to the growing needs of our clients from home and abroad who operate in an increasingly globalised context, in September of 2007, we expanded our editorial operational hours in Beijing from the original 14 hours a day to around the clock, enabling us to process all clients releases from anywhere in the world non-stop. As had done in the years before, in 2007, we also organized a series of educational events for our clients on media relations and investor relations. In Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen, we held 12 “media coffees” where veteran journalists explained to over 300 public relations professionals the nuts and bolts of how key media operate. We also organized two major investor relations seminars for companies that are listed on the various stock markets around the world. These events have been very successful in deepening our clients’ understanding of the media and investor community. Looking forward, 2008 promises to be another year with exciting opportunities. The Olympics in Beijing in August is not only a sporting event but also a platform for business and cultural exchange where China and the rest of the world come together. As companies from around the world tap into the booming Chinese market for their products and services, their Chinese counterparts are also looking increasingly overseas to build awareness and seek partnerships and capital. Clearly, communications is becoming an ever more important part of this process.
