2008 National Golf Academy Charity Golf Classic Hosted By The Links of Glen Eagles Presented By The National Golf Academy

On behalf of the 2008 National Golf Academy Charity Golf Classic committee, we are pleased to invite you to join us to Golf at the beautiful Links of Glen Eagles on September 19, 2008.

This year’s charity will be: The Children’s Link Society: The Children's Link Society is a family-centered, community-based, central access point of information within Calgary and Area. The Children's Link Society focuses on the needs of the child within the context of his/her family and community. Our goal is to help families help themselves through access to comprehensive, coordinated and impartial information about resources for families of children with special needs. Each family's evaluation of what will best meet their individual needs will determine the personalized services provided through The Children's Link Society. Our mission is to provide information and support links to families; communities; agencies and professionals in Western Canada for children and young adults with special needs. We define children with special needs as "children who require varying levels of support and interventions in order to be assured their place as fully participating members of their communities. Their needs may be cognitive, physical, sensory, emotional and/or social." Family Support Program: Information Sharing and Referral The Children’s Link Society turns no family away. Our Family Support Workers offer clients a personalized package containing information organized in a user-friendly format. Packages include comprehensive information regarding the full range of informal and formal supports available within Calgary and area. Occasionally, when dealing with urgent issues, during follow-up contacts, or through further conversations with clients, Family Support Workers determine that families may benefit from having a face-to-face meeting in order to assist them in moving forward. Family Link Program Recognizing that families can benefit from the emotional resiliency and information that other families have acquired we have established Coffee Social to provide opportunities for families to network with each other in a variety of community locations in Calgary.
