Big 6 Information Skills Developed by educators Mike Eisenberg and Bob Berkowitz, the Big6 information skill is the most widely-known and widely-used project learning / enquiry-learning model. It can empower students’ life skills in managing the problems and to be the independent and competent learners.

Our Mission …

How many items can I borrow?

The mission of WHGS Library Resource Centre is to empower students’ learning. We support the curricula and enrich students’ learning experiences through partnerships; to provide students with the access of various types of information; to nurture a love of reading and create a whole school reading community so as to enable our students to become independent lifelong learners.

* All DVDs are allowed to be borrowed on Friday only and the loan period is 3 nights.

How can I renew the books? What can I find in the LRC? A wide range of resources are provided for your learning or recreational purposes. For example: - Fiction (Authors from A-Z) - Non-fiction (Studies & your Interests) - Newspapers - Magazines (over 20 titles) - DVDs - Reference (dictionaries, atlas, etc.) - Computers (over 20 workstations)

How the resources arranged? Fiction

The book(s) will be renewed for another 2 weeks. This does not apply to the DVD(s).

Can I reserve the books? Of course YES! There are 2 ways: 1: Ask your librarians again!

Non-fiction

2: Get your PIN and Password from your librarians and you can reserve the books anytime at school!

What happen if I forget to return the books?

Dewey System from 000 – 999 

It’s easy! Just ask your librarians, Mrs. Evans & Mrs. Doran and they will help you!

Don’t worry! No fines are charged in our library except the ‘very overdue’ books! Just simply bring your book(s) back and return to your librarians!

What about overdue DVDs? Unfortunately, 50 pence fine will be charged per night if the DVD is overdue.

Can I use the LRC computer? Definitely YES! However, the number of computer stations is limited. There are some rules you have to follow: Time Rules Before 8:40 No Booking required Break No Booking required Lunch Prior Booking required!!! After School No Booking required * No computer games are allowed in LRC

What are the rules in LRC? LRC belongs to all our WHGS pupils and staff!! Therefore, the purpose of the rules is to make the LRC become a better place for learning and reading. Please be considerate and cooperative. Keep quiet in the LRC 2. Water is the only drink allowed in a sports cap bottle. No food, sweets and NO chewing gum in the LRC. 4. Mobile phone use is prohibited.
