It is now 7 years since our services started in Gleneagles, Penang. We started our services slowly and have gradually expanded with my clinic and daycare in the same floor at the Four th Floor. We have started our transplant services since 2003 and are now doing allogeneic and reduced intensity transplantation. Finally after much delay, our educational support group started last year. It’s almost a year now and we would like to take the opportunity to thank our patients for their support in our Chinese New Year Party. We hope to be able to help even more patients in future through their most difficult times. Our hospital staff will join us to celebrate the Chinese New Year. We will be expanding our facilites this year with a larger daycare ward, cytotoxic reconstitution facility and additional services to make it easier for all patients. We wish everyone a happy Chinese New Year. Thank you for having faith in us.

8th January 2006. In the early hours of the day, we all set out in the nice airconditioned bus relaxed and cosy. There were 26 of us from the support group plus 10 more participants from the Penang Swimming Club. The first destination was Chai Leng Park for breakfast. Then it was a 2 hour journey to Gua Tempurung. The nice part of the journey was that I slept nearly all the way! Gua Tempurung was fascinating. The sheer sized of the cave was exhilarating. The sheer number of steps was also exhausting. Pity that pictures did not come out so well in the dark. Lunch was great with eight dishes. Chicken rapped with buns was the main dish, served in Tapah. After lunch, we proceeded to the Gui Ling Park in Ipoh. The weather was good and permitting. A nice short boat ride and a beautiful garden awaited us. The kids really love it playing in the garden. Next was shopping for the famous biscuits etc. Then, we proceeded to Taiping Zoo. The good weather without rain and yet not sunny made it perfect for the walk in the Zoo. Some of us were too tired then and took the ride instead. An eight dish seafood dinner awaited us in Simpang Empat. Finally, the trip ended with us all tired, filled with food and satisfied, thus asking Mr Tan to organize another trip!

All of us from Gleneagles wishes you a
