Personal Prayer of a teacher

Prayer Lord, help me to share wisdom to my students, To see the individual potential of every student I teach. Lord, please fill me with your patience as I teach others, Help me to keep giving of my time and energy, especially to those who struggle the most. Lord, please give me your understanding as I am with my class, help me to depend totally on You, For You are the source of our strength, courage and peace.

I ask all this through Christ our lord, our Savior Amen.

Personal philosophy about the learner, the teacher and values

Philosophy As a teacher, it is a must to have faith, passion and commitment to teach the learner to what extend I could inculcate to them the required information. A good teacher must recognize must recognize the differences or diversity of the learner. Because I want all my students to achieve their dreams, so as a teacher I should be more flexible in choosing learning methods. I know most learning happens through social interaction; therefore, I always see to it to check their works or project every class hour. As a teacher he/she must know the subjects. I know the good teacher must have a deep appreciation of how knowledge is created in the discipline, how it is organized and how it is linked to other disciplines. I use my knowledge of the discipline to implement learning styles in my classroom. I see to it that my instructions are relevant, current and achievable. It is not also limited as a teacher in school but also to be their second parent and a brother to them.

Brief Description of the Site of School

Southern Christian College History Southern Christian College has its story of origin, the people or circumstances that launched it, and who’s who managed its course thereafter. Through evolutionary development — the original concept of SCC as a Protestant school was shaped and reshaped into an organic collection of traditions and distinctive ways. Rev. Proculo Rodriguez of Silliman University visited Midsayap in 1937. He met Mr. Bibiano Quinones and Mr. and Mrs. Fernando dela Serna and they struck the spark of putting up a Protestant school in Mindanao. The idea was nurtured; however, the dream did not come true even though Maguindanao Institute was opened in June 1941. Maguindanao Institute was registered as non-sectarian, a stock corporation with 37 stockholders. Mr. Quinones, with more than half of the shares of stocks of Maguindanao Institute, offered to donate his shares of stock to the new school. This kind of gesture was influential in the decision of choosing Midsayap as the site of Southern Christian College. The Cotabato and Davao Conferences bought the present site from the stockholders of the defunct Maguindanao Institute that dissolved itself and paved the way for the new Christian school, Southern Christian College (SCC). The members of the women’s organization of both conferences raised initial contribution, cash or in-kind, to start the school’s operation. SCC was established as a non-stock, non-profit religious educational institution in 1949. It was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as an educational arm of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines. The original incorporators, who also composed the first Board of Trustees, were: Atty. Florentino L. Martinez, Mr. Claudio P. Fajardo, Rev. Elton Brown, Mr. Clemente Dimafeliz, Dr. Samuel Royola, Rev. Manuel J. Villanueva, Mr. Fernando dela Cerna, Mr. Bibiano Quinones, Mr. Juan Cruzado, and Mr. Emilio Abarico. Since its foundation, Church Workers, either layperson or minister has administered Southern Christian College. Atty. Florentino L. Martinez served the SCC in 1949 to the 1950; Rev.
