First Sunday of Lent February 10, 2008 “The Lord, your God, shall you worship and him alone shall you serve.” — Matthew 4:10
University Catholic Center We, the UCC staff would like to
THANK YOU take the opportunity to thank
STRONG and all the UCC groups for the wonderful job they did for the Date auction. We most especially like to thank Adam Henry and Amy Fujarski for their leadership and hard work coordinating the night. We want to thank the committees, the cooks, the Emcees and all who worked so hard to make it a Mardi Gras night to remember with a wrestler, a princess and a marriage proposal. It was a magical night. STRONG would like to thank everyone who came out to the Date Auction last weekend! The evening was a wonderful success, bringing in a grand total of $5733.96 for the UCC! This money will be used to buy new furniture for the Atrium and to help pay the UCC electric bill. THANK YOU to all of the students, staff, and community members who contributed money to buy a date with our lovely contestants. Also, congratulations to our raffle winner, Kelli Sullivan, who will receive a Visa gift card worth $212.50!

Fr. Hecker Quote of the Week: Paradise is not lost, it still exists upon the earth. The lily is as sweet, the rose as beautiful and the sun as bright as they were before Adam sinned. The earth is still God’s earth and His creation is still very good, but man has lost the vision of Paradise by reason of sin. We have eyes and cannot see. Commit to Fair Trade this Lent The Social Justice Team will be selling fair trade coffee, chocolate, and flowers for Valentine's Day after all Masses today. Stop by to learn more about fair trade, Catholic Social Teaching, and to make a purchase for that special someone.
