Tim Writes This will be Pam Honey's last Sunday with us for a while. Words can't really express just how sad this occasion will be. We will be saying more in the service but for now on behalf of the parish. Go with God Pam we will miss you in so many ways. HOW WE GIVE TO MISSIONS It was informative and encouraging to see the overseas missions work we are supporting through the Anglican Board of Missions (ABM) a few weeks ago. I suspect it was fairly new information for a lot of people and it got me to thinking that an explanation and an update on how and what we give to missions might be helpful. Firstly, how do we give to missions? Well for those using envelopes you'll notice that there are two spaces for recording your giving. One records the money you give towards the general running of the church which come to around $85,000 a year. The second space records any extra giving you want to put direct

towards missions. Currently as a church we plan on giving $2,640 to the ABM. Sadly we just fell short of this target last year so if you haven't yet considered putting a little towards missions over and above your normal giving can I encourage you to think about it. Both amounts are credited towards your giving and result in a tax receipt at the end of the financial year. Secondly how much do we give away as a church and where does it go? $2,640 goes to ABM from the envelope system but we also give 10% of the profit from pizza sales to ABM. Just as a note if we raise more than $2,640 we don't keep any back, it all goes to ABM. We also give around $200 at Easter to missions work in Israel and at Xmas we give $4-500 towards Tear Fund and Christian World Service. We also give 10% of the take from the Sharing Shed away to Missions. $750 to Bible in Schools, $350 towards a sponsored child and $400 to orphans in Romania. So you can see that as a church we give quite widely and generously. Lawn Mowing Roster 17th May S. Nimmo
