Which course should I choose? Accelerated or Credit Recovery Accelerated courses •

NCVPS teachers open each week’s learning at the beginning of each week; is not a self-paced course



the semester long course taught in 8 weeks (thus, the word “accelerated”)

If a student has failed one of the ten Credit Recovery courses, students should be enrolled in the CR course rather than the ACC course

Credit Recovery Best Practices •

A lab is open and available for students to work during the week. Some schools open the lab anywhere from 1 to 5 days a week. Some schools require attendance while others leave it flexible.



If the student is not working in a lab, school contact still makes weekly contact with student.



School contact knows students' status in terms of working; follows up with students when mastery charts/status forms are sent out weekly.
