NOTE: A materials fee of $5.00 will be collected by the instructor at the first class. All supplies available at KOZO, Guiry’s, Jerry's Artorama. Meiningers, or any good art supply store, not an office supply store

Suggested materials - EVERYTHING NEEDS TO FIT IN A SMALL, PORTABLE PACK • graphite pencil: wood or mechanical HB, in brand of your preference (ie. Turquoise, Staedtler, Berol) • other pencils: Sanford Design EBONY Stabilo #8046 Aquarellable Cretacolor Nero 350 #3 • black sketching pen (Pigma MICRON .005 or .01) • OPTIONAL watercolors and brush small portable palette OR bring a travel watercolor palette 1 Kolinsky sable #5-7 watercolor brush (same used in Watercolor 1) • Bound sketching journal (portable size: 6x9" or 8.5x11" are easy to carry) with paper appropriate for wet media (there are many journals in the stores, please be sure to ask for assistance when choosing which to buy! I like Strathmore and Moleskin® brands but many others will do) • sketch pad: 9" x 12" or larger (for sketching in the field and class exercises) • 1 sheet Fabriano Artistico 140 lb. hot press watercolor paper (22x30" - cut into 8.5x11" pieces) • hand held pencil sharpener • kneaded eraser or Sandford Magic Rub eraser • water bottle (for washing brushes) • 100% cotton cloth or Viva paper towels • 2 large Bulldog clips or 2 large thick rubber bands • View Catcher™ OR two 6", “L-shaped” cut-outs made from heavy paper or board for view-finding • value scale • clear plastic 6" ruler • angle finder/goniometer • bag or small pack in which to carry ALL supplies Recommended items: Just remember to keep everything portable! • light jacket and rain coat • comfortable shoes, gloves • hat and/or sunglasses • bug repellent • sunscreen • camp stool or blanket to sit on • snack * water bottle • portable field easel (OPTIONAL) • camera (OPTIONAL) (June 2008)
