If you were starting a new world changing international organization, who would you choose as founder members? The brainy, bright and beautiful people who are full of charisma? People with power and influence? People with access to big bank accounts? Take a look at the people God uses and you will see that they are living proof of God’s power to do the impossible. Among the disciples, Peter had a quick temper and was unreliable. James and John were nicknamed Sons of Thunder, with all that implies. Matthew was a despised tax collector. Thomas was best remembered for his doubts and Judas was a greedy traitor. Abraham was someone who buckled under pressure, a nomad with little to his name, - until God blessed him. Now millions of people around the globe Christians, Muslims and Jews - look back to Abraham as a founding father of their faith. God takes nobodies to build His kingdom and change the world. Most of us never know the impact we make, but God does. Trials build up our character and equip us to deal with life's challenges, ie: boldness, determination, courage and unshakable faith in God. Trials are on the job training. Each of us is special, chosen before the foundation of the world, chosen for good works, and chosen to be bearers of blessings to others. Ask God to make you a blessing to others, just as He made Abraham, or a ‘rock’ in the Church - like Peter.
